Pure Obscure - Star Wars Games Odd & Forgotten

Galactic Battlegrounds PC = the second and more successful stab at a Star Wars RTS

Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for the NES = Before the Super series on the SNES, there were these two abominations

Jedi Power Battles for PS1 = a semi-promising brawler that quickly descends into platforming hell.

Shadows the Empire for N64 = Was hot shit when it came out, but I haven't seen it mentioned in years.

Rebel Assault for Sega CD = craptastic but oddly amusing.

Fun video! Thanks!

Teras Kasi was a steaming pile, but that did not stop my best friend and me from unlocking all characters and costumes and learning all of the combos. We were bored. Now, I just look at it and sigh.

Rebellion was a really good, but dense strategy/resource manager for the PC somewhere in the late 90's. Really great game, but very tough and complex.

I enjoyed Yoda Stories, but as you said, it was a time waster at my desk, not a sit down for hours and play. They ported it to one of the Game Boys.

I'll have to tell the wife about Tiny Death Star, she loves those kinds of games.

Did anyone like the first Rebel Assault on PC? I had so much high hopes for it and it was all but unplayable for me back in the day. Could never run it properly and when I did get it to run it felt more of a lightgun game that anything you can control with a controller.

Well, I had fun with it . . . but then, I played it with a mouse. In fact, I've always thought it was meant to be played with a mouse. Not so? It really doesn't seem like a gamepad kind of game.

Now, X-Wing and TIE Fighter, those were definitely flightstick games--yet I had a friend back then who played them with a mouse, and did well!

I also remember playing it with a joystick without much problem. Probably one of those old Logitec sticks

I think the problem was that I was trying to use a gamepad with it. I tried a couple back then and they seemed really jittery. Oh well. Maybe I'll try again someday through DOSbox or something.... :P
