CD-ROM for Falcon

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of building up my software collection, adding what I can to all of my floppies, which is a very slow process. Then I remembered about the Falcon's 50 pins SCSI-II and thought how much easier it would be just to put everything on a CD-ROM. I found a Philips PCA80SC and thought I might drop it into a external enclosure I have but wondered if there was something special I needed to keep in mine when hooking it up?

I know some of you have CD-ROM drives so I figured I'd ask.

HDDriver supports CD-ROMs - but it is commercial and a little bit pricey (but

worth every penny IMHO):

Also, there is Anodyne Software's dedicated CD-ROM stuff - its very high

quality as well:

There might be some freeware/software that will do the job as well. I'm not

intimately familiar with it though, so I'll let someone else expound on that.

HTHs. :)

Yea, I just couldn't pull the trigger on HDDriver so I just partitioned my hard drive with Celile, which worked like a charm. I just had to do a little French to English translation. It's good to know that it's possible to do so I'll keep my eyes open for a SCSI-II CD-ROM or DVD. I just don't think I have enough floppies to store all of the software on.

Thanks for the info.
