ataridave
I have one of those adapters so I don't have to use an RF switch box and cable, so what is the best cable to use to get the clearest picture, out of an older console, like the Atari 2600? I have a yellow cable, but I'm wondering if a red or a white one would be better? Or a black one? Or does it even matter? Rex Dart
No; they're all just copper inside. The best would be one that has thick insulation, and preferably gold connectors. I like to use this Monster-brand cable I picked up cheap... it was meant for digital audio but of course works for anything.
Osgeld
the yellow ones SHOULD be shielded and impedance matched to 75 ohms, which is the same or close enough to an rf cable, whether it actually is or not depends on how cheaply made the cable was. A good indicator would be the thickness of the jacket in reality over a short 2-3 foot run doubt you would notice much of a difference on RF Edited February 8, 2014 by Osgeld
