Sprybug
Alright guys. All the programming is done. I'm going through and playing the game, making notes of bugs and changes I need to make. There's this one ring count bug that's got me miffed at the moment, but I'll eventually figure it out. So, this means that once I get through and try to clean up all the bugs that I find and know of, that it will be ready to be tested by people other than me. This is where I need beta testers. So give me a shout back here in this thread and I'll jot you down as a potential game tester for Zippy. Unless you have a way to play it on a real Atari, being a 64k game, you'll have to play it in Stella or some other Atari 2600 emulator. If you can actually play it on a real 2600, please let me know! Beta testing should start happening soon, probably early March. -Chris

ATASCI
I would be more than willing to beta this out for you. I will play it on my harmony cartridge plugged into my real Atari 2600. I can also try it on Stella emulator as well. Looking forward to giving this a ride. ATASCI
+FujiSkunk
I would be more than willing to beta this out for you. I will play it on my harmony cartridge plugged into my real Atari 2600. I can also try it on Stella emulator as well. Unfortunately this game will not work on current Harmony cartridges, since they only support games up to 32kB. The upcoming Harmony Encore will work, but that's not out yet. For now, a Krokodile Cartridge might work, depending on what bank-switching scheme Zippy uses. Coincidentally -- and also unfortunately -- I tried using my Kroko cart this past weekend, but could not get it to take a new game image. I'll see about troubleshooting that, but I get the feeling the flash memory was past its shelf date. Whether I can get the Kroko cart working or not, I'd be happy to give Zippy a beta run. Edit: The Cuttle Cart 2 maybe has support for 64kB 2600 games; no maximum 2600 image size is given in the docs. I and other CC2 owners can give that a shot if Zippy uses one of the supported bank-switching schemes.

joelm
I'm in. I can test it on a 7800 or 2600. How do you plan on pushing the code out, test cartridges or ROM?
Dan Iacovelli
I'm willing to play on stella

Nognir
If you need a tester for PAL systems then let me know. I have a Harmony Cart here, so I can test it on the real thing.
Sprybug
If you need a tester for PAL systems then let me know. I have a Harmony Cart here, so I can test it on the real thing. It's a 64k binary, so it won't work on a standard Harmony Cart, but thanks for offering. I don't have a PAL version yet. I plan on doing that after all the bugs are cleaned out first, since I have to have two different versions (NSTC and PAL).
Kroko
If you are on 64Bit Windows, please try this version of the Krokodile Commander:http://www.arminvogl.de/KrokodileCartridge/x64Test/Krokodile%20Commander.zip Coincidentally -- and also unfortunately -- I tried using my Kroko cart this past weekend, but could not get it to take a new game image. Good news: my Kroko cart's working again. I had tried it on two systems running 32bit Windows XP, but when I switched to my Windows 2000 box, it worked. I also switched serial cables and power supplies at the same time, though, so I cant't say exactly what the magic formula was. At any rate, on the Win2K system it flashed a 64K image in under a second with no errors.
iesposta
Hooray, it's almost mid-March! I still have not acquired a Harmony 1+, a Harmony 1.5, or a Harmony 2 (or Krokodial Cartridge) yet, but can hardly wait to test this game in emulation until a Harmony is ready. Brian R.
Don't know if you're still looking for testers, but I have several 2600s I could test it on - light six, four switch, junior - and a couple 7800s I could test it out on. I'm also a writer by profession (journalist) and would be happy to help with any writing related matters, such as if you need a manual edited or whatever. Edited March 14, 2014 by Brian R. A few different2600 toggle switchers and juniors, and two 7800s - one with and one without the expansion port. ... and it would be best not to typo a word when offering editing services.. d'oh!
