Hyperboy
I have a couple of the newest versions and I haven't had any issues with them.
oo7
I think your confusing this for the legacy eng model. Im asking specifically Retrolink
goldenegg
Why do you think he's confusing models? RetroLink has refreshed their controller line multiple times, including this stick.
RickR
You could buy the retrolink cable and use any real Atari joystick you want.
oo7
So I purchased a classic2 usb from SYZYGY COMPANY Let me tell you what a mistake. Costed me the same as my logitech f710 and I recieved garbage. . Its broken. The shell felt loose on arrival. I looked underneath and noticed right away a missing screw. With a missing screw it shouldn’t be this loose so I opened it up to find that the 3 out of 4 installed screws were wood screws that broke the plastic when they were screwed in. This joystick design looks great. If it wasn’t for wood screws and broken plastic it would have been half decent. See attached disappointing pictures. I am truly annoyed. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/k32v3opsclh9v/ATARI_JOYSTICK
+Allan
It does seem broken but why do you call the screws 'wood screws'? Those look exactly like the screws that are not only used in Atari's 2600 joysticks but also hundreds of Atari, Coleco, Mattel, and many other video game companies' products. Hopefully you can get it resolved quickly. Allan
Osgeld
they look a bit more sheet metal to me, but honest to god plastic screws are the same, cept they might have a second smaller winding going tween the main shaft as far as 3 vs 4, It doesnt make since to cheap out on one screw when you have 4 holes, screws are cheap as dirt as far as the split bosses, that could have been done before or after, loosening or tightening, should be interesting to see the outcome
oo7
here is their reply. they ignore the fact the plastic is broken. they offer I return it. Just disappointed. FYI the retrolink didnt come with these issues. However the classic two looks more authentic. I find their reply very arrogant and ignorant. Their reply below If you don't like it, return it for a refund. I normally would not debate a customer. However nothing is or was loose. I brought that controller down to shipping myself I personally know that there is nothing wrong with it. The devices only needs 3 screws and the one missing does not in anyway structurally effect the design. The screws have been used on 17,000 shipped controllers shipped. I find your critique of the product erroneous. Syzygy Company RMA returns 117 Duke Drive Carmel, New York 10512-1598
Curt Vendel
James- from the first day you contacted me from your insulting statement that my controllers were garbage, had bad timing and should cost $9 only to realize that you were confusing my controller with the retrobits that you had nothing but bad things continuously to say about them... To then wanting me to take time a photograph all of the internal plastics so you could see everything which I took the time, specifically to you... To now with a claim I find highly dubious that the controller was loose, the top and bottom plastics lock together, even without the screws. All joysticks are tested before I put them downstairs at the shipping desk for them to ship... I personally brought yours down and out it into the mailer, so I know first hand that controller was in no way shape or form loose or not working... You seem to have a pattern of over the top disdain for products you purchase, so much so to actually go on this rant and then attempt to spam it all over the message threads... You were given the option to return the product and be fully refunded, perhaps it would serve you better to return the item and move on vs this ranting from a highly dubious position. oo7
I did originally confuse it with another product (one that lags) To be specific the classic2 performs great. But the brittle plastics that break is a let down. Its an opinion backed up by photographs. the bosses needed to be beefier or the screws finer. and the missing screw isnt a big deal but should clearly be there. I am moving on was just sharing my experience.. I assumed a brand new custom controller wouldnt include broken plastics my bad.
oo7
fyi if i wanted to spam or go over the top this would be all over youtube and twitter and instagram. Im just showing other people what to expect. Using epox I have fixed the controller. Just cant wrap my hear around somone designing this controller and then to cut one little corner turning it into garbage. if the housing falls apart the rest is useless. In a specialty item like this the housing is an important factor. Anyway Im done arguing or complaining it is what it is. A great idea that looks nice functions nice but come with cracked plastics. Doesnt matter to you from what it seems as you claim better sales than logitech. Now seeing how you handle your sales and looking at your employment history I can see why Atari Corp folded. Good job continuing a "legacy"
chrislobo
Watch out, I ordered an USB Joystick on Syzygy on July 12, and I never received it. Curt Vendel is never responding to my emails, or promises to send it, but he never does... so be careful before you order ! Same here... my wife ordered two 'classic2' usb joysticks on August 5th and they have not been delivered so far Curt Vendel also promised to send the joysticks on August 18th and never did, since then he stopped responding my e-mails and is ignoring my private messages on Syzygy's facebook page
Skullmeat
I find USB adapters are a better bet. Usually cheaper. Also, I find reprodutcion controllers dont quite have the same feel. I don't have an adapter for my 2600 contoller (yet) but I have one for my NES controllers, and I love it. Got it for like 4 bucks at a retro store here in town.
