Gury
Hello there, Thorsten Brauer, author of Stratego, kindly sent me his updated games (2013), which can be freely downloaded. The other two games are The Adventure and Das Abenteuer, actually the same game in English and German. Stratego is strategic/logical game and the other two are text adventures with illustrations. All games are disk based and must be loaded with Atari BASIC switched on. Stratego The Adventure Das Abenteuer http://gury.atari8.info/news.php Enjoy!

Garry
The Adventure (English) and Das Abenteuer (German) are both dated 2013 on the initial loading screen, but 1988 on the title screen. Does anyone know if these were ever released in 1988 or is the 2013 release the first release? If there was an earlier release, does anyone know where to get them? As Gury wrote in the first sentence, he presented updated games from 2013. The versions from AtariOnline or from Fandal's site should be the original ones I think: Das Abenteuer: link 1, link 2 The Adventure: link 1, link 2 Edited August 28, 2015 by +Adam+
Garry
Afraid not. I downloaded the files from atarionline.pl, a8.fandal.cz and gury.atari8.info. They're all the 2013 versions. The file names are incorrect on atarionline.pl. The release date is incorrect on a8.fandal.cz. gury.atari8.info gives two release dates, implying two different releases, but only provides the files for the 2013 version. The author's YouTube video says that he originally wrote them in 1988. He does not say that he released them in 1988. I think the 2013 release is the first (and only?) official release. I have written to him to ask for confirmation. If I get a reply, I'll post it here. For what it's worth, I haven't played the game yet, but it looks like it might be alright. All adventurers should support those that are still supporting the old 8-bit Atari and give it a go.
+Adam+
Interesting. Maybe Gury knows something?
+Adam+
Hmm... in that video Thorsten Brauer says something like "Today I would like to present you a game which I programmed in 1988 and which I now(?) re(?)published in 2013". And on the screen we can see "Original game finalized in 2013!!". The message is not clear, but you may be right, the 2013 version could be the only published version. +Adam+
I wrote an email to Thorsten Brauer asking about Das Abenteuer / The Adventure and that's how he replied: This game has never been published officially before 2013. The majority has been programmed in 1988 and I shared it at this time with some friends. In 2012 I found a solution to transfer and capture all my data from the old Atari disks to my Imac before they got lost forever. While I was looking at them I realised that I never had finished this game (there was no end) and I found the time and motivation to analyse and understand what I had programmed in 1988 and to finalise this game in 2012.It was a lot of fun and reviving memories for me.... There is another game which I never finalised and thus published - maybe I find back time and motivation to finalise and share it in the future as well...
