+save2600
KA font on the box and label is large and angled… you *will* know a KA edition of this game when you see it. About the lack of speculation or interest on this particular title… funny that was mentioned. I came *this* close to purchasing the KA version when it was released, but ultimately couldn't pull the trigger. Just no longer care to devote space to things that I know I'll never ever play. Gunstar
How would someone know specifically if they had the KA version? I have a version of it, but I think it's like the one the OP has... the white box insert with a white manual. You'd know becuase it has a case and better graphics like shown here: http://betaphasegames.com/Aircars%20Jaguar.html
Atlantis
I like 3d action shooters, and know this games isn't know for being that good, but the price is high anyhow:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AirCars-KA-Atari-Jaguar-Limited-Edition-/301642654310?sojTags=exe%3Dexe%2Cext%3Dext&cp=1&euid=d73fb343018f431994d77a0b0d749656&exe=12290&ext=30653&nma=true&si=DvItMC5%252FcDiq27ZoTDujMj%252BSTCw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Thought I'll go for the ICD/B&C version for 50 and for 70 with manual. My question. It is a beta version game, maybe not pollished, but is the ICD/B&C version a full (fully playable) game with lots of levels and a finnish??? +Saturn
np, had a lot of fun with this game over the years. Moreso networked and laughing at how assinine it looks than 'fun' related to play. It has its challenges and you can't really lose in single player story mode. A somewhat unexciting ending but that's to be expected. As Gunstar has said, the KA version is best but the repros have their plus side in price and availabilty for networking. Definitely worth the money imo. Willard
do people actually want these games to play them or just because they're so expensive all the sudden we were sitting on KA Aircars for over a year before we sold out last copy (which was like, four months after the copy we sold before it). which is why we never printed more than the first 100. SuperDork3000
I would have actually bought one to play, had I been active in the scene at that time.

I remember when the cart was $40 & with manual was $45. Guess they must be running short of the manual then?? Their prices always go up when things begin to run short. Willard
they photocopy the manual. at one point they had originals... and some uncut sticker sheets. but that was a long time ago. Edited June 1, 2015 by Willard

Their prices always go up when things begin to run short. Yeah, but it is ok anyway. Need to get food on the table, I respect that. I still ponder if I'll go for two copies or one from B&C, maybe next month. Would be cool to get two and open for some Jaglink in a distant future, Aircars and Doom. But this months budget on Jag is already done (one or two games a month. Just ordered Doom NIB). The KA Aircars is RARE, and I can't count on a second batch. I like Hover strike, so why not Aircars? 3D on the Jaguar is much appealing. Edited June 1, 2015 by Atlantis
Gaztee
they photocopy the manual. at one point they had originals... and some uncut sticker sheets. but that was a long time ago.So they're charging $20 for a photocopy?? Think I could get it printed properly with a cover for less than that!

I think I was your last customer. I'd wanted it from the start and had reserved a copy, but then life smacked me upside the head and it ended up being a year later that I even looked to see if they were still available and your site didn't say sold out, luckily you had that last copy, which was most likely the one you had marked for me in the first place. So there was a year in which anyone could have bought my copy. No regrets at all either, in purchasing KA Aircars. I had the ICD version years ago, and I enjoyed playing the game, and always wondered about what seemed like "place-holder" graphics in the explosions (or lack of) and building collapses, etc. This game was never going to be great, but I always thought the ICD version might be a beta, and was proven right with KA. So since I liked the game, why not get the version with substantially better effects and a few other enhancements. As well as a real case, and better cartridge label and manual. It fits in the shelf nicely with My Jag DVD cases for CD's and my Jag cart boxes. My KA Aircars isn't for sale. But I am looking to buy another for networking on the best version. I doubt I'll ever pay $250 for it though, if that's the selling price. Maybe a rom release could be arranged for use with Skunkboards? Atlantis
But I am looking to buy another for networking on the best version. I doubt I'll ever pay $250 for it though, if that's the selling price. I just ordered two carts from B&C, the old cheaper version. It's going to be sweat to link them, just for the network experience. It's a much cheaper version, but keep your eyes open for a new KA. I myself cross fingers for another run of KA in the future, since the new craving for them.
+MacRorie
I would love to play the KA version. I mean I am desoldering cart PCBs just to be able to conveniently play ROMs. I have a skunk board to try them out, but would like to be able to just pop them in. Also, since it would be best to play networked, I need at least two copies, which seems to be difficult. If KA releases some more, I am on that bandwagon. Gaztee
Don't know if this need a topic of it's own, but whilst meeting the printer about the materials for JHL15 I brought up the question of the Aircars manual. As B+C are now charging $20 for a photocopy of the manual, just wondering if people would be interested in getting a new reprinted manual with a cover page that the original never had? I would also change the overlay to match the one I sell with the box sets. It should certainly come in well under $20! Might also help me move the wedge of boxes I still have to sell! Any thoughts appreciated
Sapicco
How can you tell the difference between a ka air car and b&c version? Pics?
Willard
you would know it's ka aircars because it says it on the label and clamshell insert. The background of the left 3rd of the cart label is black. other versions have full color graphics across the whole thing. its a little harder to tell the difference between the original and B&c without having them in hand. The B&C version has "B&C" on the bottom and the label is of much worse quality than the original (which used a glossy, plastic like label that's actually of higher quality than other retail releases imo). With the price this game demands you'd think you could find enough interested people presently to feasibly do another run of the KA version. Whats the reasoning against it? Up front cost? Perceived lack of demand even with astronomical ebay prices? Or is it that the people who would have to allow it don't want to? It just seems wrong that a fixed version of this game exists but is either gathering dust in somebodies collection or flipped by used game resellers over and over.

It just seems wrong that a fixed version of this game exists but is either gathering dust in somebodies collection or flipped by used game resellers over and over. we haven't released more copies yet because the demand was next to nothing by the time we cleared our last couple copies. There haven't really been that many people asking, and kind of cumulatively became noticeable recently. our current "priority" is getting all of our releases out (which we have a backlog of) before doing reprints. That doesn't mean we won't do reprints if we see enough people who legitimately want them. We're doing RP and hotdog right now (despite the fact that we make more off of 1 Jaguar game @ $65 than 4 lynx games @ the $35 we sell them for). Atlantis
Got my Aircars carts from b&c, and first impression was: this is not a good game...Gave it some more time, and now i think it is an enjoyable game, it is challenging but you have endless of lives, so it is more an endurance race against the resistance rather than you're out of lives. It takes advantage of the controller, you use all buttons. I like the graphics, deep colors: spinach colored ground ans such, as Cybermorph. The graphics are sparse but i like that, along with eerie sfx.Game play is straight forward, avoid lots of enemies, find target buildings and take them out along with enemies nearby. It's not a game for everyone, but if you like cybermorph you might as well like this game. If you hate cybermorph you will probably hate this one too. Look forward to network this game. Will definitely buy x2 KA aircars when it's reprinted.
