I will order tomorrow.

That's fine, no problems

And by the way, I found shipping each device individually is costing me too much in time, effort and also money, so for group orders like this one, shipments will be made on Fridays, thus the shipment of the first group will be this coming Friday, the next group will be next Friday and so on...

Hes listed 2x in the screenshot. Very nice looking product! Cant wait!

Yes indeed he is, i will fix the list and thank you for the compliment, I am trying to do my best given electronics are not my area of expertise, and honestly it was a challenge to route the PCB and then to solder tiny SMT components (0805 and TSSOP). I was at the limit of my abilities but I think I survived. :)

Some clarification about shipping for the people who are not familiar with my shipping method:

the number you have on the shipping document that i sent all of you is the reference number, not tracking number. The package is not trackable, $12 shipping you paid covers for the mailing+shipping material+paypal fees, had I made it trackable, I would have charged you near $30 for a device that costs $55. Unfortunately shipping has become quite expensive lately (to all destinations) and I had to change to small packets type shipping that does not include tracking. Having said that I never had any problems with shipping so far and it’s been pretty reliable. Small packets type has a delivery standard of about 10 business days, and remember I ship on a Fridays and the post office does not work on weekends. I had to wait for two full weeks for my parts to arrive from Mouser Electronics (Mansfield, Texas) so please be patient and don't panic if you don't get your package in 3 days.

One other note:

All past purchasers of SIO2PC/10502PC Dual-USB (any version) are also qualified for a free copy. Such purchasers will only need to PM me to receive their personal copy.

Received my order.. Thank You!

One small question about drivers.. If I have a version 2 Sio2pc (square box) do I still need to install drivers...

Looking forward to the newest updates to AspeQT ...

Because each device has a unique serial number, the driver files will be installed for each device (both versions of the device however use the same driver). There is a way to ignore serial numbers on driver installation. If you run this small program it will make a change to the Windows registry so that serial numbers are ignored. You need to supply the device type, VID and PID and click WRITE to activate the feature or ERASE to deactivate it. Since you have both versions of the device you need to do this for both device types, so run the program twice:

once for Device Type=FT232R, VID=0403, PID=83B0 and,

once for Device Type=FTX Series, VID=0403, PID=83B0

I use this method for testing, makes my life a lot easier when I have to test many devices each with different serial numbers. Otherwise I end-up with multitudes of serial ports and eventually run out of COM port numbers.

Above is true for a given USB port, if you insert the device to another USB port you will NEED to install the drivers for that port at least once.

a8w, I just ordered one from your site for my new 800

I think this is probably the most exciting thing I have ever bought for an 800.

I had an 800 back in the early '80s before I moved on to an Amiga after battling a couple of years of floppy drive issues. I decided on a whim to get an 800 again and have been having a ball with it. Major blast from the past.

Welcome to Atariage and back to the atari 8 bit world cp256, nice to see our community grow every day, hope you will have a good time here with fellow Atarians, I personally have a better time now than I ever had before, in the mid-eighties, when I've first got my hands on an Atari 8 bit computer (a 800XL). Call it nostalgia or whatever but it's definitely fun times once again.

And thank you for the purchase, I will get back to work immediately and hope I will ship yours before the end of the week.

Best

Ray
