atari181
I was just talking about this with another member. My guess is a Hozer cart. Amazes me how he is selling an Air Raid in one auction and an obvious reproduction in another. He is either very ignorant about it or just trying to pull a fast one. He is either very ignorant about it or just trying to pull a fast one. I guess he is using the other auctions just to add credibility and the intention is to sell the repros. Looks like something Troy would do.

CPUWIZ
Funny how all the PAL carts say that they have not been tested.

roadrunner
What about that sellers Video Life, it looks different than the one in the AA database.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-2600-Video-life-Magicard-super-rare-/271431593112?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3f32956c98
Atari_Bill
My first impression was that the seller was a big time collector liquidating his collection. Rediculous prices but he's got some BIG time stuff (and he says he's had it for a long time). Once he started throwing out the fake stuff like the Video Life and probably Gauntlet, I knew he hasn't been collecting for years like he says. The fake stuff gives him away in a heartbeat. I wouldn't trust anything he's selling at this point.

CPUWIZ
Yep, the cart has a small hole on the back, to toggle between the 2 x 2K ROM images.
bennybingo
But hey...it's from his personnel collection!!! He's had it for 24 years...just like that double ender Gauntlet/Malagai cart....
+frankodragon
All he needs is the "W@W" "L@@K!!!" to make it a genuine ripoff.
atari181
He seems to have sold the same type of repro for $15 before. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gauntlet-Atari-2600-reproduction-Rare-/271397905631

CGQuarterly
All he needs is the "W@W" "L@@K!!!" to make it a genuine ripoff. I have "W@W L@@K" set up as one of my saved searches on eBay. You have no idea how many awesome scoops I've found that way.
BenjaminStevens
I have spoken with this seller personally over the phone and he is a very nice guy. Unfortunately, it just seems that he has not performed much research into things over the years before making purchases. Thus, after talking with him about some of his carts, I am firmly convinced that he bought carts over the years off of auction sites, not knowing at all whether they were genuine originals or not. Thus, if he tries to sell some carts without firmly stating if they are originals or not, it's because he himself does not know. As for this copy of Gauntlet, which is still up for sale at the moment, I must say that it is very strange that the label on the cart matches what appears on the front of an original box for this game rather than what appears on the front of an original cart for this game. This does strongly seem to indicate that it must be a reproduction, unless Answer Software happened to make 2 variants of the cart. Does anyone here happen to know who would have made a reproduction of this game using the image from the front of the original box? As far as I know, the reproductions made by Hozer did not have this type of label on the carts.

I call BS on that, even if he bought all these carts from auction sites, it doesn't take long to do a google search. if he didn't do any searching he wouldn't know that the originals have any value, so he knows they are fakes, he just doesn't want to admit it. a lot of newer hozer carts now come with a laminate over the label. I'm almost certain this cart was made by hozer.
