+Charlie Cat
I thought Hyper collecting is pretty rough since you need 3 or 4 motherboards with the 7 or 8 games I'm not sure how it works myself enoofu. I would have to look into it more. But I always wanted to get into the Hyper Neo Geo 64. It could've done so much better if they released it a few years earlier. enoofu
If i recall they had 3 or 4 different motherboards since cabinets at the time were setup either to be fighting games, gun games, or driving games Also heard that a lot of the boards at in the UK

I would love to add the Hyper Neo Geo 64 to my arcade collection, though I would probably only get the fighting game motherboard. I like the port on Playstation, I think it was called Fatal Fury Wild Ambition! I remember playing it on the Hyper 64 and looked great! The Playstation does not do it justice. -Aaron

But I would like to know about the hardware first and see if I can get a working unit for it someday. Would be nice for sure! Anthony.. Zap!
Hey guys, Remember the pictures regarding Atariage member Zap!'s American AES unit that was posted here? Well here's a video from Zap! 24 years ago with his AES unit in action with a few friends of his. Enjoy. Love watching classic home videos with family and friends playing video games. Now And then (24 years ago in 1993) Anthony.. Lol that was a fun day! The lighter-haired Anthony was my friend's little brother, and the other one was his best friend at the time. These kids probably never saw a Neo-Geo home unit before that day lol!
mattyjjenkins
Hello all my beautiful NeoGeo loving friends! Hey couple of questions for you Ant 1: Is that you on that 'home video'? 2: Im desperate to buy one of those NGPC SD Flash Carts but I've pit my name down and email but not getting any response? Is there a waiting list or summit? Do I just sit tight or am I missing summit? MJ
mattyjjenkins
How many games did the hyper 64 get? I think that not many games were released on it. I think there was only 7 or 8 games mate, I read at the time as well SNK were going to realise a home cart version should things have gone different! But obviously it was canned a bit like the PocketColor Home console, a home console that took the same carts as the Pocket but on your home TV but SNK went bankrupt before it materialised! Tanooki
I know I haven't written in here for a bit, but to answer that question - yes there is a wait list and it was 100s long. He can only do so many a week but if you're on a list, it will come up. Just wait. I was in the first dozen or two that got on the list so I got mine weeks ago when they first started to roll out.
mattyjjenkins
Thanks mate appreciate the reply. Please don't think I was complaining or being inpatient or anything, I was just wondering Ive been out the scene due to ill health for a couple of years so only learned of the NeoSD and Pocket Flash Cart a few weeks ago, and hadn't heard back from RetroHQ so was unsure if Id missed it thats all.. Im super eager to get one thats all. MJ

MJ Hey Matty, No, unfortunately that isn't me in regards to either the two Anthony's in the video (though I wish it was). Those were Zap's! (Ter is his real name) brother's friends during the time in 1993. Would've been exciting for me as a 10 year old to played that AES unit because I really wanted one in my pad. However, Ter does live in Staten Island. Its one of the 5 boroughs that make up New York City and is close by. I would like to meet up with him someday and hold that early AES unit of his so I can be part of history knowing I witnessed this piece of history knowing its one of the originals that debuted in the country,. mattyjjenkins
Ah I thought that was you! Is Ten the guy with the real early serial AES? And isn't Staten Island were the Statue of Liberty is? I love NY, can't wait to visit! MJ
Tanooki
Once your number comes up you'll get an email from RetroHQ, pretty sure I remember it being an invoice. You can choose to buy or ignore it and it'll go to the next.

Darrin9999 is the gentleman with the #2041 AES unit which is even lower. As for the Statue of Liberty MJ, it's on Liberty Island and its in Upper New York Bay. Its an enclave of the borough of Manhattan. Hope this helps . Anthony.. Edited July 23, 2017 by fdurso224

MJ Believe SNK main problem with the Arcade crash in NA in 98, and very penetration in the US market during Hyper 64 launch Developers were probably also confused since SNK had all these 2 D capabilities for a 3d System Board Good example is Samurai Shodown 64
mattyjjenkins
That Darrin9999 low serial number Neo is bad ass! I don't think Ive ever none of such a number! The Neo I use as my main cart console came with the MK2/Bean-Stick and is from the very last batch of console SNK manufactured. Are the latter consoles actually different inside to the earlier made consoles? Oh, Liberty Island, that would make sense! LOL. People don't live where the statue is though do they? And I might sound like a donut asking this but on GhostBuster when there in the head of the Statue, can you actually do that? Like clime up internally and look out the crown? And cant believe that "Exciting 'Old School NeoGeo' project" is actually SS-5-Special Was so hooping it was going to be a bit, well, more exciting! SS-5-S for Vita and PS4's cool and all that but you can't beat playing the proper cart on proper hardware! MJ
+Charlie Cat
Check out the Strikers 1945 Plus Review great little shmup. Glad to see you again Tuna. Strikers 1945 is such a great title to play. For a game that came during the later parts of the Neo-Geo, it showed that the market was still interested in the 2D environment at the time, and the Neo-Geo can still provide excellent gaming for players to enjoy. Nice work as always Tuna. Keep it up and we look forward on seeing more from you soon. Anthony..

Anthony.. Actually, in the 90's I was close friends (still am, even though they moved far away) with brothers Vinnie and Billy. Their younger brother is Anthony, and his friend is also Anthony, the kids in the video. I would love to have a meet-up one day. I can even bring my PVM, so you can experience the Neo-Geo in all its RGB glory.
