+Charlie Cat Posted November 17, 2017 Author Share Posted November 17, 2017 SS3 is by far my favorite of the series and that boss was a nasty bastard to fight until I figured out how to wreck him in the arcade in college back in the day. I know he'd wipe the floor with me now as I rarely have time to play the cartridge now on either MVS or Gameboy. I use to play the Playstation port of SS3 when I rented it a few times from Blockbuster videos. It was the first Neo-Geo port that I played for the unit and it was just average on what it had to offer. Too much slowdown and the load times done on just about everything you did. Graphics were fine but missed some of the important elements that the Neo-Geo version had I just have it for collecting purposes these days, but that's the most it will go for me with it. I forget at times how many arcade conversions the PSX got from Capcom and SNK, Saturn got the upper hand with that as did the DC. If you want to see truly fascinating stuff, watch a video of the Gameboy release of SS3. mattyjjenkins Posted November 18, 2017 Share Posted November 18, 2017 This is a brilliant video, I knew the CDZ was double speed Ive had so many arguments with people who say 'its not really double speed, its 1.5x, not 2' but Ive always argued it was 2x, I knew it was!! Brilliant video Ant!! Haha! Looks exactly like my Switch. Its amazing how many Neo ports the Switch is getting its like a mini arcade unit, love it! That's right Tanooki. Personally, Zankuro Minazuki was my favorite boss in the Samurai Shodown series. Just one badass dude to go up against. Anthony.. Zankuro is cool but for me I loved Amakusa that was the boss of bosses for me!! Was sooo excited when SS4 launched on CD and waiting for my copy to be delivered on launch, the wait was almost unbearable! Really Tanooki SS3 was your favourite? Thats really strange because for me and Ive read for a lot of people 3 was there least favourite in the series so to hear somebody say thats there number 1 is mad. For me its 4 but closely followed by 5 SPECIAL, 5S is sooo good! I really hope we get a new 2D SS game soon! Ant - Ive a few Neo ports for the PlayStation but the just dont play right on SONY console and I dunno why, its not because I love the Saturn but Neo games seem to only play close to perfect on the Saturn but you cant beat playing the games on actual SNK hardware! lol Whats all this about Ant I'm confused? There was a lot of SNK ports for the PS1 but they played nowhere near as good as the did on SEGA hardware fact. Theres so many YT videos Ive seen where they say the PS ports are indistinguishable to the SEGA ports and Neo hardware originals and that just bo(fill this yourself)x there good games to have on the PS1, really cool to have if you collecting them but to actually play its gotta be on AES/CDZ or the Saturn or DreamCast! Thats awesome, so were going to get some kind of Arabian women in a future SNK fighter? You mention KOF, so I assume by the pic and the content, a lots in Arabic this will be a fighter for KOF15? I wish they would have kept the date system for the KOF games and as much as I think KOF14 is a fantastic 3D fighter and has really 'throw a stone' on CAPCOMs and NAMCOs lawn when it comes to competitive 3D fighters, Id LOVE to see SNK go back to there routes and do a hard core 2D fighter, maybe a bit GuiltyGear esq so we see 2D with some flash 3D effects as thats what some people may want, but a flat out hard core 2D fighter is whats needed, theres loads of series they could turn to... a new FatalFury, a new Samurai Shodown! A all new FatalFury/RealBout is what id like to see! We know SNK have master 3D fighters KOF14 is tarring it up all over the world so Imagine fo one second if they dropped an all new 2D master piece on us?......Ahhh, Well, we can dream cant we?
