+batari
Due to the recent number if significantly delayed and lost packages to Brazil, I am no longer using USPS/Correios to ship there. I'm reviewing FedEx and other options but until then I cannot accept any more orders to Brazil. If you are from Brazil and have already ordered and your package has shipped, I can only advise that you remain patient. I honestly don't know why your orders are taking so long. If your package does not arrive, I will make things right. Don't worry. If you are from Brazil and want to order in the meantime, I believe there are remailer services in the USA. If anyone knows of a good remailer service, feel free to post here.
tokumaru
This sucks. It's true that the mail service in Brazil is crap, but I thought things had been getting better lately. I'm one of the customers who unfortunately has had his Harmony lost in the mail, way back in 2009 or so (batari made sure I wouldn't be without a Harmony though, can't thank him enough for that), but after that my success rate with online shopping was pretty decent (the only significant item that got lost was a refurbished GBA SP). All Flash Carts I bought from Krikzz (SD2SNES, Everdrive 64, Master Everdrive) arrived very quickly. Those had tracking numbers, which probably helped. Maybe if the Harmony was shipped with a tracking number things would be better and not that much more expensive? The bad thing about FedEx is that buyers will surely have to pay a huge chunk of tax for the carts. Whenever the product + shipping add up to more than 50US$, we have to pay 60% of the value in taxes. Common packages are hardly noticed by customs if they're small enough, but the way companies like FedEx work always results in taxes. Well, I honestly hope you'll find a reliable way to ship to Brazil (I was really looking forward to buying a Harmony Encore), but I totally understand that you won't if that means losing money on a regular basis. It sucks to live here, people can't even deliver packages right...
kmilloz
I Shop at Dealextreme, focalprice, Krikzz, among others, and always received the products, they were sent with tracking code and have not increased in price because of shipping ... I would love to buy a Harmony microsd, I hope to send back to Brazil ...
tokumaru
In my experience, everything with a tracking number reaches its destination... I never lost anything that was traceable online. I'm really looking forward to buying the new Harmony Encore, mainly to experiment with making programs larger than 32KB. I'm considering asking around to find a kind soul in the US who'd be willing to receive the cart and forward it to me for little or no profit, because the commercial mail forwarding services I could find so far are too confusing and expensive. Let's see how this goes once the cart is released.
Vectrexer
I have shipped and received more thank 20 things between the US and Brasil. Never had any issues doing so other than the time it takes for some packages to make it though their customs and local mail service. Usually within a month but sometimes as long a 6 to 8 weeks. Patience is the key.
tokumaru
Hey batari! So... The Harmony Encore is out and I'm dying to get one, so I must ask: Is shipping to Brazil still out of the question? There's no shipping option with tracking that could be considered? As long as the packages are traceable there shouldn't be any problems, but maybe you could have Brazilian buyers agree to taking responsibility for any lost packages after they leave the USA, so that you won't have to reship in case anything happens. This is a chance we'd have to take with re-shippers anyway, so if these are the terms it's still better to get the product directly from the source, isn't it? Never without tracking though. I'm currently working on a game that I expect to get bigger than 32KB (mostly because of level maps, I want the game world to be quite large), so the Harmony Encore would be an invaluable development tool for this project. Please let me know if there's any chance we can work something out that isn't troublesome for you and doesn't involve me paying twice what the cart actually costs. Thanks!
