eightbit
I purchased this not too long ago from a forum member here, and it is a lovely setup. I took it a step further and upgraded the memory with the 512kb upgrade from Cloud9 (see pic of it playing Donkey Kong which requires the 512kb, monitor not included!) You get the computer in excellent condition as pictured (not yellowed), fully functional, and completely upgraded. Comes with box, manuals, foam, Triad memory upgrade manual, and original memory modules that were pulled from the machine for the memory upgrade if you ever need them. My family and I have decided to move today, and I need fund for that cause, which is why I am selling. Expect to see more items listed through the course of the week. I am just asking what I paid. $150 for this. We can work out shipping in PM. I also have Drivewire stuff (cocopaks, cables) and controllers for the unit if interested. Thanks! All sold (everything including Cocopaks, joysticks, etc). Thanks all! Edited April 9, 2014 by eightbit

Tempest
That's a great deal. I'm tempted to jump on this, but I sold all my CoCo 3 stuff last year due to lack of time and I doubt I'd ever get around to using this. With the 512K you can do some cool games. eightbit
I am adjusting this to $150 SHIPPED now. I need to make some money for my move. Any takers?
+thanatos
The 512k Triad upgrade is a huge plus! I just got one myself and replaced an original 512k upgrade, the reduction in heat is remarkable!
AtariLeaf
That's some great photography!!! Excellent setup, all of the CoCo anybody would ever need! Yes those photo's look suspiciously familiar I'd be tempted but I'll have to contend with having just 5 Coco 3's. And yes, the triad is literally a "cool" upgrade. Tempest
What games made use of the 512k memory upgrade? Has anyone made a coco Multicart yet?
+eebuckeye
Is the Coco3 compatible with all the Coco2 cartridges, etc?
+thanatos
What games made use of the 512k memory upgrade? Has anyone made a coco Multicart yet? I don't think any of the cartridge games required 512k. The Sierra ones (Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry) for sure. and the Sock-Master Donkey Kong conversion of course.
Tempest
Is the Coco3 compatible with all the Coco2 cartridges, etc? Most of them. There are about 5-10 cartridges that use some low-res graphics mode that isn't in the CoCo 3, but most of those games aren't worth it anyway. I don't think any of the cartridge games required 512k. The Sierra ones (Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry) for sure. and the Sock-Master Donkey Kong conversion of course. The Sierra games require 512k? Why? They run just fine on a 128K Apple IIe. RangerG
Donkey Kong and Pac-Dude 3D require 512k and these alone are worth it. They both work on DriveWire. Tempest, did use DriveWire when you had the CoCo before? It has made a huge difference for me. It's like having a 255 slot flashcart multicart. I even have wireless dongles for it, so there is no cord. Ninja and AtariLeaf were really helpful getting me set-up. I also have the 1084s monitor and the CoCo looks amazing on it. This is not the CoCo1 I had as a teen playing the mostly crappy cartridge games .

eightbit
That is correct. All of the Sierra titles run under OS9, and they all require 512k. I have played them all with this machine, and they work great (and look great). I also have some other accessories that I was going to sell separately, but can be added to this set for some additional funds (that I would have to determine, depending on what you would like): Drivewire turbo serial cable RS-232 to USB high speed serial adapter (tested with DW, works great) Cocopak (cart pcb by Chad) with eeprom containing DW3, sealed in an official Tandy cart shell (just plug it in, turn on the Coco3, ready to go) Another Cocopak pcb with DW4 turbo rom (in case you want to try the 230k turbo mode in DW4) Two deluxe Tandy joysticks with boxes. One of the boxes is tattered, joysticks near mint. One cassette port to audio cable (this was the way I sent the DW3 rom to the Coco3 before I obtained the Cocopak carts) Ohh, and there are some other games that require the 512kb upgrade if you are running them from disk. Arkanoid and Thexder both come to mind. Even tho these are 128k games, they must use a little more overhead when using the disk images. They would not load on a stock 128k Coco3, but load fine and dandy on a 512kb unit. Edited April 9, 2014 by eightbit
