Gurner
- Anyone bother with these? - Also, anyone ever have the pins in the ports break at all? Cheers.
+save2600
Nah. Could always use Sega Genesis extension cables if you really wanted though. I use them, but not because I'm worried about breaking any solder joints. No biggy to touch up if it does happen though.

fiddlepaddle
What is a port saver? Any pics? - Keeps your red wine from going bad once it's been opened? - Thrifty sailor on shore leave? - VCS connector repairman? - a small, lightweight, conveniently-sized piggy bank easily moved from location-to-location? Amstari
- Also, anyone ever have the pins in the ports break at all? I've had a pin in the controller port break on a 2600 Jr. It didn't break at the solder joint, it broke where the pin bends 90 degrees. I was able to use the same pin from a dead 2600 Jr to replace it.

English Invader
A joystick port saver can be bought for about £5 off eBay and protects the joystick ports from wear and tear. For some systems like the Atari ST, this is essential. Personally, I use them for all systems that have the standard 9-pin joystick port. 7800
So, It's like a "go between" for the port and the joystick plug? The 5200 could use these.
