yarjr
So just got my Arcadia supercharger in the mail but even after extensive cleaning of the pins it still just starts black and flashes yellow. I have no idea what to do. Im afraid there's a blown capacitor or something inside it.What say you? Any ideas?BTW before I forget Im using an Atari Jr so its not a 7800 issue.
+Gemintronic
Have you tried playing the tape at a slower speed? You know this thang plays games off of a cassette, right?
yarjr
I have Phaser Patrol,Escape from the Mindmaster,Dragonstomper,Killer Satellites, and Communist Mutants from outerspace so yeah I know it takes tapes.Issue has nothing to do with the tape speed,I don't even get to the menu that says rewind/play tape.Just flashing black and yellow. yarjr
I would say its just dirty but I cleaned the hell out of it and a normal cart works fine on my Jr. so Im kinda stumped.
AtariBuff
Funny, we had the same situation with a really mint-out-of-the-box SuperCharger this last weekend. Wouldn't even show the menu...
yarjr
Any ideas Ataribuff?
S1500
All I know is that it doesn't work(at least mine) on a Coleco Gemini module, nor a 5200-2600 adaptor. EIther that or mine's fried.
AtariBuff
Any ideas Ataribuff? Sorry - nope, we just put it back in its minty box after being baffled because the connectors were really clean. We wanted to try out KC Monster Maze! at our collector's meeting on saturday at a friend's house on the real thing but ended up with various other games instead.

Mr SQL
k,I may have to return it then. What a pain. I have the original Arcadia model too and it works fine with my Jr so I agree it looks like the SuperCharger is bad, but to be sure you should try it on another 2600 (any model) just to make sure one of the components in your Jr hasn't gone out of spec which is also possible, even though it can play other carts. The SuperCharger is pretty awesome, hope you get it up and running!
