This is a pool to vote the best games ever for Intellivision :-)

There will be several pools of 5 titles each to cover the following categories:

- Best game of all time

- Best sport game

- Best shoot'em up

- Best arcade conversion

- Best producer

Sport and shoot'em up have a specific category because of the many representative titles.

Arcade games have a specific category since it was a must of that time to port games from the arcade to console, and I remember all the magazines evaluating the power of the consoles by comparing the conversions :-)

We will not find here a candidate for the best game overall, but Mattel produced several titles about gambling, cards, board games.. there is always market for that, and some of that are very well done again: I did learn play Poker from the professional instruction manual.

Those titles also make you play with parents!

I placed money on Horse Racing to Win but, muck like the pink horse that Rev always bets on, it quickly petered out; bringing up the rear. Such a sad sight limping across the finish line :(

Lol! So many jokes in here. :)

I'm with the consensus here - I knew how to play poker as a kid and being the pack in game with the dealer and a nice variety of games, this was an easy choice for me. My 2nd pick would have been horse racing which I did play a little with my cousins as a kid and had some fun with. Royal Dealer which I haven't played in ages would be a distant 3rd.

I owe my gambling prowess (such as it is) to Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack. I don't gamble, really, but I played Blackjack on my Intellivision so much as a kid that later in life, as I visited casinos when on holiday or with friends, I didn't do that bad.

Poker, not so much, couldn't really understand it when I was 9 years-old. Now, Strip Poker on the C=64, that's when gambling really made sense to me!

I don't know how much time I wasted trying to get the final pieces of clothing off! And remember when we had to wait a minute or two for the picture to finally load ... Come ON, it seemed to take forever!

Lol! That's when "hacker DZ" figured out that you could just rename the pictures from the floppy, so that the last ones were the first!

I've got similar memories of c64 strip poker . . .

I went and played some of these today to be able to vote. I ended up going with Horse Racing, but LV P&B is a very nice game. I liked the randomness of HR combined with your ability to learn info over time between races (and make it less random). It added an element of depth that I thought was pretty cool.
