Advanced

My scores*

1) 117,575 (04/28)**

2) 273,675

* According to rule #3: I'm submitting scores only, no nice pics, not to mention cool full game-play videos.

** Date shown here as I used to do anyway. Picture of current Robotron Advanced for hardware and emulator players.

Bonus time

Scores* for one controller only.

1) 270,250 (04/28)

2) 346,650 (05/04)

*No pics of highscore.com 'cause they can't tell if it's one controller or not. Should a video specially made for HSC and hs.com showing name, face, gameplay, hand and one controller only be worth? Nope. I forgot it could be for an old score, thus not worth of trust. Better abide to rule #3 again.

909700 personal best! what a fun game. I don't like it very much with one controller but I'll see what I can do!

mbotelho - I'm using 2 CX-40's, the good ole' standard 2600 joysticks... the 7800 controllers just don't do it for me.

"coupler." is that an extension cord for a controller? if so, you can get one for the Sega Genesis & use that! I actually use those.

I'm curious what you mean here-- Rule #3 in the 7800 club rules of play says any control scheme is fine. do you mean THAT rule #3 ? but I don't see what that would have to do with not posting a pic.

What control schemes are people using to play Robo?? I tried 2 Coleco and 7800 controllers. I wish there was a damn coupler for the system.

one controller in port one and one controller on port two...the game picks up both controllers by default if they are plugged in prior to powering up the system...left one moves your character around and the right one fires.

Congrats for the 900k.

Actually, it is rule #4. :dunce:

What I want to state is how HSC is all about fun, even pics aren't required.

In a place so enjoyable as the HSCs, where you find friends all around the world playing different speed games (NTSC|PAL), different controllers (Eurepean 7800 d-pad, pro-line joysticks, 2600 joysticks, modded nes dpads etc.) and also different emulators, it really didn't make sense to me the non posting in highscore.com thing.

If a player says his score came during this week, that's in the same spirit of the #3 rule #4 rule.

I felt like I'm more tending to cheat only because I'm posting in Highscore.com and this doesn't make sense.

Much on the contrary, now everyone can see when I got some of my best scores by visiting highscore.com and checking the date it was submitted.

Yes, one can hide his score and then submit an old one here and in HS.com but this always could have been done in HSC only.

I submit pics here for every score and then delete when I get a better one.

The main reason: it is fun to me.

Now, I'm feeling I have to prove everything, so I'm posting only the scores to remember (especially myself) it's all about having fun.

I have 1-7800 controller and 1-2600 controller (both original). I grabbed a piece of wood and some zip ties from work. I put the controllers where I like them and drilled holes in the plank. I used the zip ties to lock the controllers onto the board so it gives me a simulated version of the Arcade Robotron 2084 feel with Dual controls. I'll snap a picture of it and post it later.

Now that's what I call getting creative. Nice Job.

I appreciate your point of view Lid !!

I think I had the most fun with the 2600 HSC back when I mostly didn't post pics.

A few people complained about my Towering Inferno score (which didn't even count because I submitted it too late!) so I decided to try to always have a picture, but I didn't like that I reacted that way to people complaining when it is an honor system club. It feels like catering to the opposite of having an honor system.

the reason I like what Jacob said is I like the idea of waiting to post at HS.com until after the HSC round in the spirit of giving priority to showing respect for the HSCs & players. I don't really feel like posting over there makes it an old score, but I decided I do like the significance of waiting til the round is over before submitting it elsewhere. Not to show I didn't cheat but just to give priority to the HSC.

Hey everyone, first post to the forum but have been reading for years. I just got this game and have been enjoying it. How do I get involved with the HSC? I just scored 109,325 using two controllers on intermediate. This was my first time breaking 100k but I just got the game a few days ago so I'm just starting to get the hang of it.

Jacob, the 7800 HSC moderator, picks the games and set the rules for each round.

You only need to post your scores but for this one we are playing in Advanced. Jacob also is giving some bonus points for one controller in Intermediate.
