TheGreatPW
The Mario Kart 8 pre-order craze is in full effect but the best deal is a surprise from Walmart. Instead of a $10 gas certificate from Best Buy or the $25 ecard from Dell, Walmart is giving pre-orders a free Mario Kart 8 racing wheel accessory on top of the full digital download you'll get from the Nintendo Club registration! This is the probably the most worth while bargain of all the bargains out there right now as the gas credit will basically equal to what...one gallon? (Just kidding! Just Kidding!) The Dell deal is eye catching but unless you're buying a PC on sale, everything else on the Dell website seems to be at full retail price. The only other place that may offer a bargain that may rival Walmart is the Nintendo World store in New York with its launch party however no details have been announced yet although they usually give away NIntendo products during their major launch parties. A last minute thing if you can make it to the world store in NY. Happy hunting!
TheGreatPW
Looks like Target also added the free racing wheel with the purchase of Mario Kart 8 for the week. Good to see more places adding the free wheel.
cimerians
That's pretty good deal...I pre-ordered on Amazon though. I dont really used those wheels but the kids like it a lot. (on the Wii).
Mendon
I don't shop at GS but if you do, they have a Mario Kart 8 racing wheel for sale, priced at $10 http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/wii-wheel-mario-kart-8/114134

cimerians
Me too....its either Wind Waker or a Mario game. From the video's I've seen it looks like Mario Kart will be a solid entry into the series and finally in HD

Once I got to the reverse races on Mario Kart Wii I couldn't stay in first for long due to that damn cheating rubber band AI. The difficulty shot through the roof! Mendon
It really PO's me that Nintendo made a limited edition bundle of the game and sold this version only at their World of Nintendo store in New York. And of course, the store doesn't do mail order. So the only way you can get this limited edition (and I'd really like one) is thru eBay and already they are priced from $250 to $500. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mario-Kart-8-Limited-Edition-Nintendo-World-NYC-Exclusive-NEW-SEALED/151314875113?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D7264539661327190418%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D20131017132637%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D151314875113

Is there anything special that GameStop gives that Target or Toys R Us doesn't? Target (in store purchase) and Walmart (online purchase) currently has the best price for this accessory: free (if you purchase Mario Kart 8 with it). atarilovesyou
For some reason, I thought that this was going to be released on the regular Wii as well...at least that's what was advertised in the Wii section at my local gameshop. I guess not? By the way, is there going to be an official Nintendo driving wheel add-on like the Wii got?...I saw a red one from Hori, but any word of a Nintendo one?...probably just be exactly like the Wii wheel anyway, since it uses a Wiimote...if they're going to bother, that is. Austin
Registered my game tonight, got my code and download Wii Party U (already played or have the other options) without too much trouble. The site seemed a little bit slower than usual, but it wasn't absurd or anything. For some reason, I thought that this was going to be released on the regular Wii as well...at least that's what was advertised in the Wii section at my local gameshop. Some stores aren't separating the Wii U items from the Wii. Wal Mart and Best Buy both mix them together (or at least my local ones do), so it can be misleading. The original Wii is dead. I don't think there are any new releases scheduled to hit (except this?). Although honestly, Nintendo should do another round of Selects titles, and put a new label on it specifically informing people they work on the Wii U. Might get more people to pick some of them up.
Tempest
Yeah if the PS2 is any indication you'll get a trickle of kiddie titles for the Wii still. Too many kids own one and they tend to multi-platform anyway.

They show the same plastic wheel add-on from the Wii that the regular Wii Remote fits in. Personally, I find the best control option is the Pro Controller. I think the gamepad is a bit too wide to be quite as comfortable or precise.
goldenegg
I have to say that I really like how the GamePad is used in this game. I was ecstatic to see they didn't simply mirror the primary display.

Andromeda Stardust
Dangit; I'm jealous. My Gamestop preorder did not come with bonuses. I wish I'd known about the Club Nintendo free download promotion a few months ago when I bought Pikmin 3 for $59.99. It was still in the original shrink wrap until just the other day. Oh well. I redeemed a free Zelda HD and the download size is actually smaller than Pikmin 3. I also got 70 points for registering Mario Kart 8, 60 points for registering Pikmin 3. Then i dug through my collection and found a bunch of Wii codes that haven't been redeemed yet. I made quick use of those codes because Wii is in it's twilight years and I have a feeling the codes may not retain their value for much longer. Got Platinum for the sixth year in a row, w00t! The '13-'14 Club Nintendo year has been really slow for Nintendo releases IMO. I bought a Wii-U and a 3DS xL in '12-'13 and achieved Platinum very quickly, so I've still got a crap ton of unredeemed Wii-U and 3DS codes. FYI, I'm a pack rat with Club Nintendo points. Unless there's an expensive Club Nintendo item I desperately want to redeem, once I get Platinum status, I'll save up points codes for future use so I can redeem them the following year. Hopefully, I've got enough Wii-U and 3DS tickets saved up to make Platinum for '14-'15 come July...
