NowThereAreNoLimits
Hey gang. It's with much joy (having finished the first episode) that I introduce you to our all new series, "The SEGA Channel." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GArUX3iTPa4 I spent a long time debating the idea of rebranding the SegaMasterSystem.com youtube channel. I wanted a stand alone show to focus my efforts on, and with SMS.com, I saw myself spreading out to broad... too many concepts and ideas. After much deliberation, I decided that an "ALL SEGA RETRO" show was the way to go. Thus, The SEGA Channel and the first episode seen above. SegaMasterSystem.com will remain a functioning website. We have some new writers who are very excited about cutting their teeth on some articles for the site, and when The SEGA Channel produces a Sega Master System focused video, that video will be shared on SMS.com. The two are basically one in the same... sister sites. But my focus is now on creating this ongoing series called "The SEGA Channel". I urge you to take a look at what I've done with the first episode, "The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin". Please let me know your thoughts on the direction I've taken. Feedback is essential at such an early stage of the game. Thanks guys.

Each has its own merits. Excelsior! Will watch the next one later.

NowThereAreNoLimits
NEW EPISODE!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq1Jk_qcgbE In this episode, we take a look at Teddy Boy and Kung Fu Kid for the Master System. Also covered is Kid Chameleon for the Genesis / Mega Drive. All three of these "boy child" mascots had their day, but quickly faded into retro gaming obscurity.

108 Stars
I like it. And the concept works better now with someone else but you commenting on the games. That style of video with the people like answering an interviewer seems a bit akward when you know thee's only a single person. ^^ I especiwlly like it whn you add some personal anecdotes, that's nice. On the videos topics: Love Kid Chameleon. I'd like a rvival of that. About Altered Beast: I dunno how reception of the game was in the US in 1989. But at least here the mediocre and bad reviews are not new, tha game was panned here upon release. For me too itis one of Sega's worst games.^^

Hydro Thunder
Altered Beast comments first - I've read some interesting writings about Altered Beast and it matches up with what was discussed. For some, it was too dark (for young kids especially), for some, too hard. It was a far cry from say, any of the Mario Games. But at the same time, you can't out-Mario Mario, so it was better for Sega to take a different path. They eventually got it perfect with Sonic; he was "cooler" than Mario but still acceptable for young kids. And then later Golden Axe. I think Sega took the attitude to be the console the teen / older brother had, and therefore the one that young kids wanted also. Later, the Playstation took this theory to work in the market. As for myself, I loved the style of Altered Beast, but I sucked at it, and it wasn't a big draw for me. I got my Genesis when Street Fighter II SCE came out, and got a 6-button arcade pad. I played it night and day. Sonic 2 was packed in, but I wasn't a platform guy so I just tinkered with it occasionally and let it collect dust. Rented Altered Best a time or two, enjoyed it but didn't need to own it.
Hydro Thunder
Crazy Taxi - Great video, it really captured the excitement about the game when it came out. As for Crazy Taxi 2, I would venture that not only was the timing poor, the game just wasn't as much fun as the first. It had barely any new conventions at all, and the maps / buildings were harder to figure your way through. I loved that one of the cabbies was "Hot-D", short for House of the Dead (if only he would have been G or a Zombie!) in the sequel, but other than that it wasn't fun for me. A strong recommendation for any Crazy Taxi fan: Simpson's Road Rage. I am not kidding, you should really check this one out for Xbox or PS2. It is a straight up Crazy Taxi rip off, but it does everything better than Crazy Taxi; it's basically what the sequel should have been. Not only are there a ton of cars/ characters to pick from, but the cars have very noticeably different driving properties (unlike all the cabs in the CT). As well, the passengers' comments are unique not only to the passenger, but between the character you're picking up and the person driving very often. They did TONS of work on the voices for this game, and the humor is everywhere as you would expect. It's fast, the graphics are excellent, the unlockable cars are completely awesome, and it's just a great great great game for fans of Crazy Taxi, of the Simpsons, or like me, both. NowThereAreNoLimits
NEW EPISODE! This time we're taking a look at Clockwork Knight, one of the most underrated series SEGA ever created. Why this never became a key player is beyond me. Pour one out for Pepperouchau!
Hydro Thunder
GREAT video. I never played much of CK, it just never really appealed to me for some reason. But I've been curious about it (and why the sequel arrived SO quickly after the original), your video was wonderfully informative and well put together! I also got a Saturn early, I believe I got one of the two that arrived at my local Software Etc on launch day. The only games available were Astal, Daytona, Mansion of Hidden Souls, Panzer Dragoon, and Virtual Hydlide (with Virtua Fighter packed in). I don't remember when CK and the other early games showed, like Bug! and whatnot. But I picked up Panzer Dragoon and just played the crap out of it and VF. It was a big deal in May 1995
+madman
Good stuff, watched the first two. I was around 12 years old when the Genesis came out and I remember being blown away by the graphics and sound on Altered Beast. I must've spent hours playing a demo unit in the local K-Mart in a few month span. Having recently revisited it, I would agree with those who feel it hasn't necessarily aged well. I never had a Genesis "back in the day", as I was a Nintendo guy, so maybe the nostalgia factor isn't there for me.
+Cafeman
Great video, I watched the newest Sega Saturn / Clockwork Knight episode just now. These vids are just the right satisfying length. I'm a CK fan myself. I liked CK but CK2 really was a much bigger, more complex and better package. I was proud when I beat CK2 and got all the playing cards (there are 4 of them per level, and you can pass them up if not careful!) It really was weird how Toy Story came out at the same time (but months later), yet they probably had nothing to do with each other's development. I like the mini-games on CK2 (gotta enter a code to get it) too. Some of those boss fights were really tough yet very rewarding. Keep it up, we'll watch 'em. Yeah, there were some aspects of CWK 2 that I thought of mentioning (like the playing cards) but overall I wanted to keep things down for time. Glad you're enjoying the episodes! been watching this channel (and subscribed) since the thread came up, great job keep it up! Thank you so much! I get a lot of joy out of making these.
