Next Gen Controller Wear

I'm curious how everyone's controllers are wearing. I've owned both a PS4 and Xbox One, and I'll go over some things that I, and my friends, have experienced on both. What have you experienced?

I will say this. Both my and my friends treat our gaming consoles and controllers like they're precious gems, haha. Seriously, I don't press on the joysticks hard, I don't mash buttons, or throw controllers. All controllers were treated like babies. Despite this, we've seen excessive wear.

PS4 Dualshock:

1. Every dualshock 4 that I've owned (4) and everyone that my friends own, seem to lose their "rough" feel after a couple weeks or less. It's hard to explain unless you have a two month controller next to a brand new, untouched one. The rough feeling of the plastic goes away completely and becomes smooth... very smooth, which doesn't seem to absorb hand oils at all. Issue doesn't seem to be resolved yet.

2. I've had two (my original and its replacement) who's R1 buttons ended up sticking/breaking after 1-2 months of use. The second one eventually stick in and never popped back out again. Issue seems to have been resolved with the last two controllers I purchased.

3. Joystick rubber wears away very quickly. Any texture quickly dissolves away and becomes abnormally slick even after being cleaned. My friends controllers also started to rip. While I can't comment on the ripping, the quickly dissolving texture seems to have not been fixed.

Xbox One controller:

1. Ripping joystick rubber. This is a weird one. My Day One edition controller seems to be fine, but my second controller (which was recently replaced) had rubber starting to split, despite never really being used. My friend's original Xbox One controller did the same within 2 weeks. His new one seems problem free. I'm not sure if the issue has been fixed, nor if all controllers were effected. It's weird my Day One edition is fine, but the one made afterwards wasn't.

2. Broken L trigger. My friend's first Xbox One controller had a defective L trigger. By the time he returned it, it had stopped working completely, along with the rumble motor inside for that specific trigger. I've not had any of these issues, thank goodness. I'm not sure if this was widespread or not.

All in all, the Xbox One's controller at least has a matte finish that STAYS matte. Which feels good on the hands. But there seems to be a common joystick rubber issue between the two brands, at the very least in the beginning of production. Hardware is a completely different matter. My launch PS4 was returned, and my buddies launch Xbox One was returned. Seemed each had their equal share of launch hickups.
