Well being a software guy not hardware forces me to use Emulators.

Can not afford new equipment or repairs.

The poll should consist of:

1. Do you own 1 or more TI99/4A?

2. Do you have your TI99/4A packed away?

3. Do you turn it on more then 1 time a year?

4. Do you turn it on more then 1 time a month?

5. Do you turn it on more then 1 time a week?

6. Do you turn it on more then 1 time a day?

7. Do you use a Emulator?

8. Do you use a Emulator more than the TI99/4A?

9. Have you answered this poll before?

All answers should only be yes or no as this would give a better overall map of use of real TI99/4A

Also if yes to 9 then ignore all answers and reject from poll.

You do realize, Kevan, that this survey is gonna tell you exactly nothing useful, don't you?

...lee

I dunno, at least at the time I wrote this reply, I find that peoples TI's actually get very little use. Only 1/4 of them appear to use them daily (at least so far). Kind of sad actually.

Tursi figured me me out though, I wanted a poll that you actually had to look at to figure out. I thought it was good for grin or two. ;)

I've been working on a component video mod for mine, with TMS9929anl or TMS9928anl Video processor chips. At the moment I'm waiting on some

LM1881 ic's to arrive as the component inputs of my capture card don't like the rubbish vertical sync that the TI produces and the LM1881 ic's do some

cleaning up of the signal according to the docs. Horiz sync looks good.

If I'm successful I'll share the schematic, if not You won't here about this again.

How this relates to this thread is that I cannot stand the rubbish composite output. My vic-20, c64, plus/4 and Amiga 500 have much better quality via s-video.

I'll use the TI quite a bit more when I hopefully get this sorted.

If that isn't successful you can always check out the F18A - it gives nice quality VGA output, and is pin-compatible with the 9918A ;).

I am fortunate enough to have found, on Ebay, three years ago, a 1981 TI-99 console that is brand new, it had never been taken out of the box and had been stored. The finish on the metal is fantastic, not a bump on it.

It's gonna be used more regularly when space is devised for it, we have a CRT television in the loft waiting.

Just needs the space!
