CMUalum
Okay, I'm sure this is covered on one of the "variations" web sites, but I was trying to figure out if there was a certain point when they stopped using the white cart tray. Did all of the games come with a tray in the early years? Some of my boxed games have the tray, some have just the opening in the box. I'm assuming the boxes W/O trays are later editions. I'm not really into owning the different variations, but the "tray" boxes seem more appealing to me.
+intvsteve
You're talking about the Mattel games, right? I think the theory is that the earlier games used the trays, and subsequent runs used alternate boxes, most likely as a cost reduction measure. +BBWW
In my collection if the cart cut out fits a tray, it has one. It just looks better. I spare no expense. LOL Now for my sealed Mattel games, what is, is. I'm sure the earlier you go but higher the likely hood of a plastic tray. retroillucid
Are you guys doing Gatefold boxes? We will To make the white trays, you need to make a mold (couple of molds) in wood (using CNC) Then you vacuform your mold Or you ask us, since we have our own CNC and Vacuforming machine
