think my lynx died, help?

Well, I dug out my lynx the other day (lynx 2) and thought I'd play it, stuck in some batteries and it came on just fine. Thought that was weird, didn't think it was supposed to till you hit power, but anyhow. Couldn't find any games, so I was going to play the one in the system, lemmings. It starts just fine, but no matter what button you hit, the game instantly ends with one of those "you didn't rescue any lemmings" things. WTF? None of the buttons do anything, the dpad doesn't move, the option buttons don't do anyting and the a/b buttons (on both sides) all do the same thing, self destruct apparently.

Anyhow, I"m not really familiar with anything like this, is it hard to fix, should it get recapped or something? Or is it just dead? I mean, if it didn't come on at all I probably wouldn't even ask about it, but it comes on and appears to function, minus the buttons, just wondering if it was worth fixing or was hard to do so.

LOL it's not built in, just the one i knew where it was (it was in the lynx already) I got more games, but I'll have to find them.

Lemmings is one of those games, I got for about everything I could find it for, got a DMG and game gear version too, but the lynx is the best version with up to 40 (non flickering) lemmings on screen at once.
