I hate blue LEDs and I'm trolling. Other than that I'm sure it's a fine set of mods. Perhaps the seller would offer it with proper RED LEDs much more in-use during that era.

While I would never bother with old junk hardware like this. I know several people that are CV fans and it would make a nice giveaway present at our August tech bash.

The junk hardware I refer to is the original base ColecoVision unit itself. Back in the day I had 2 of them that failed. Knowing what I know today I would suspect it was the VDP. And I suspect they went bad from the intermittent sparking and flaky nature of the 12V line from that huge powerbrick where it connected (!) to the console. Not to mention the rickety feel of the "high-impact" ABS plastic the console was constructed out of. The metal shielding around the mainboard wasn't properly mounted and buffered in the housing and tended to have a short duration rattling sound. Compared to a Heavy Sixer or even a Light Sixer, the CV build quality was bottom of the barrel.

Some of my best classic gaming was done on the CV back in the day. Looping, Zaxxon, CosmicAvenger, SpaceFury, DKjr, all great stuff! Make no mistake.

But I still despise BLUE LED's they have simply gotta go.

Just stop while you're ahead. I'm sorry this had to happen to your thread Yurkie.

Blue LEDs are a fad from the mid-2000's and don't belong in a classic console.

All stuff now has blue LEDs for power, yellow for standby and red for off. This is how my tv, pc and ps3 are. I may be wrong as I look at a ps4 and my laptop because the power LED is white...

Someday I hope they use the color ones that change.
