homebrewreseller13
I would not call this an idea but more of suggestion I really like the homebrew game K.O. Cruiser for the 2600 but think porting over to 7800 mode would only improve on the game. I don't know anything about programming so I am unaware of how difficult this would be. But the 7800 has better graphics and the controller has 2 fire buttons instead of 1 so right there you have left and right punch leaving the joystick for movement and deciding where said punch will land. (left button and stick up left hook to the head or left button and stick down body blow) I think you get where I am going with this) and it could be named K.O. 7800 or something like that. I don't want anything for my idea or suggestion just would like to see this in 7800 platform and a chance to own it.

+Gemintronic
Why don't you commission the person who made the 2600 version? If he was going to do it for himself (a 7800 version) he would have already done it. No homebrew developer would directly copy his work.
homebrewreseller13
I was not expecting anyone to copy his work I was maybe hoping he would see this and think about porting it to the 7800 but your probably right if he were going to he would have already. LS_Dracon
It's not about the graphics or system capabilities, it's about make a game for a system you like. Otherwise, everyone would make homebrews only for PS4 or Xbox One.
homebrewreseller13
thank you LS_Dracon for your comment I do understand. I just got into buying homebrews for the 2600/7800 and even the intellivision within the past 2 years but I have played these systems since they first came out way back when LOL and am very impressed with some of homebrews that have been made for these wonderful old systems and just thought that since there is only 1 boxing game in 7800 format that making a sequel to K.O. Cruiser in 7800 mode would be awesome. Edited August 1, 2014 by homebrewreseller13

homebrewreseller13
You mean you just got into reselling homebrews over the last 2 years. I really do not know what your problem is. I am a classic gamer/collector but I do live on a fixed income and I have stated on a different thread that I do and have resold new, used, and homebrew games on ebay to help support my own buying and collecting and the fact that after I pay ebay fees paypal fees and get my original investment back I only profit between 3 to 7 on most games I sell so its not like I am out to get rich. I am not doing anything illegal as far as I know but if it offends you or any homebrew author I say sorry and just let me know what games you made and I will respect your wishes not to sell your games. Trebor
I really do not know what your problem is. Hi...I know the above was not directed specifically to me, nonetheless, I'm just being honest with you, and quite frankly cannot imagine that for one moment this thought did not cross your mind, but your handle/name/nick comes across as antagonistic. For people that have been a part of this forum and have a passion, even a love for the hobby, and have gone out of their way to help and support the community, particularly and/or especially in the case of homebrew developers, the name you chose automatically translate to a sign of disrespect and 'in your face' attitude of I don't give a damn what you think or who I offend. The connation to such a name denotes a motivation of acquiring homebrews and selling them at least considerably higher, if not ridiculously higher prices, regardless of any claim(s) to the contrary. I'm sure not all of that is/was your intent. Additionally, Shawn nor anyone else needs a spokesman, but I'm being 100% transparent and blunt with you in stating that is exactly what crossed my mind and continues to do so seeing that name. As of this writing, you have 12 posts. My very humble suggestion is to change your board name to something a bit less confrontational, or start fresh with a new account. Just my two cents (Probably worth less in most states). Nonetheless, take care, "homebrewreseller". I will posts nothing further on the topic of your current name as it is pointless. If you don't understand (or care about) the above, even after it being brought directly to your attention, the whole discussion is a moot point with you anyhow. If you do/did understand, and believe the aforementioned suggestion is the best course, then your actions will speak louder than words/responding to this thread. P.S. Double Whammy for having that name and starting a "homebrew ideas" thread. The effect is like inviting and welcoming trouble - No "Big Bucks" for you.

carlsson
The idea of a boxing game for the 7800 is not new, even the K.O. Cruiser game was mentioned in this thread: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/224298-punch-out-for-the-7800/ As for contacting the developer, he seems to have been offline since February 2013 but nothing is impossible. By the way, I thought the username was chosen with tongue in cheek, a bit like Mr Smoketoomuch in the Monty Python sketch.

You could just make another account and use this one to beg for Pippin software. I hear that works wonders! All joking aside if re-selling homebrews is what you love then don't worry about it. Better to be up front about it and leave the money talk in the marketplace section. It's just not the norm for this community. I was actually offended when the maker of Atlantean for the TG-16 indicated that I might re-sell his homebrew on eBay

+Gemintronic
Also, it sounds daunting but making this game yourself is doable. Your average joe doesn't have the money for professional development but time can be found - even if in byte-sized chunks (ha!) If you ever programmed in BASIC your own 7800 boxing game is possible: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/222638-7800basic-beta-the-release-thread

Buy a subscription and support the forum. This also comes with the ability to change your user name to something a little less offensive to those your looking to converse with on this forum. homebrewreseller13
Well I guess I really should not worry as the fact is the owner of this site allowed me to join with the name chosen and it was not offending to him otherwise he would have denied me. I also would like to point out if not for E Bay there would be a bunch of classic gamers like myself who would never have known of homebrew games. I thank the sellers that sold some of their games on E Bay because otherwise I would have never knew of homebrews and would have never looked up AA , Good deal games , Packrat, or even Elektronite so its E bay sellers or resellers that help find homebrew publishers new customers you should be a bit grateful and not hateful to resellers as long as they selling more and more people who are themselves classic gamers will hunt the web to find out where to buy more homebrews. Thank you Matthew for your comment you and Theloon both have made me feel welcome on here.
rlerner
Sorry in advance for the bump. Dear homebrewreseller13 or my_less_offensive_name_on_this_site, The admins and/or mods didn't approve of your username. I bet that I could create some really creative usernames and nobody would notice. Based on the members tab, and a listing of 20 members per page and 1,556 pages I count 31,120 members on this site. I've managed websites with far less than this and would never have noticed people joining with vulgar and hilarious names. The only "approval" that takes place is e-mail validation. That being said, I think that it is nice that you want to change your name. I haven't been to a forum yet where somebody apologized. My wife would love you
mnbvcxz
I think it would be worse if he changed his name because then people would not know his true intentions, if he came clean and said he would pay royalties on each copy, that would help his image and encourage programmers to offer their creations to him, there are software publishers for other old systems and they can be beneficial to that scene as they can provide a one stop shop for all or most homebrew software, especially if they supply that software in a nice box with manual, cassette, disk or even cartridge. He would then be an asset to the community rather than leeching off it.
