tokumaru Posted August 19, 2014 Share Posted August 19, 2014 Since the TIA can be completely reconfigured every scanline, the 2600 can certainly draw double gameplay screens. The bottleneck is CPU time and RAM, since you have to handle twice the game logic and state. It should be possible though, if the complexity is kept at a sane level.
