iesposta
If you don't want to publicly announce you have spare parts, PM me. I just realized my original Intellivision has a dead controller. I need the printed insides, or a replacement controller. I switched the working one and the good controller works at both connectors, so it is not the board. Thank you for any information. Muzz73
Hmm... I got some extra controller guts when I got my INTV System III (brand new) all those years ago. I may have a couple left, but if I do, they are with my INTV III, packed away in my sister's garage, four hours away (by car). She was supposed to be digging it out before I go to see her again. I'll let you know if I still have any, but it might be a month or two.
catsfolly
When I read the title "Who has Intellivision parts?" I had a weird vision of a Tony Stark type mega-resourceful guy being injured on the Island of broken Intellivisions, and somehow rebuilding himself six-million-dollar man style with Intellivision parts... Sorry to hijack your thread with irrelevant thoughts. I have no spare Intellivision parts. Catsfolly

+Lathe26
When I read the title "Who has Intellivision parts?" I had a weird vision ... My mind went to the bad place. I imagined that Intellivision parts were what you used when playing Space C**t.
+nanochess
This could be interesting to know, I've a friend who has a broken Intellivision, I'm almost sure is the mainboard. Of course I would have to ask first if she wants to get it repaired.
HunterZero
A good supply of RA-3-9600 RAM chips and AY-3-8914 and STIC chips are what we need. These are the most common points of failure on the logic board.
iesposta
No one has contacted me privately. However I got a broken system for its controller. Thanks everyone for looking! There are two Mylar controller sales on ebay (for two controller Mylars). Both are from Venezuela. One is $20 + $4 shipping, the other is $20 + $13. Another ebay has the N.O.S. bubble button Mylar part. That is in the USA. I was planning to get 2 Intellivision Flashbacks in October, the second one to upgrade my Intellivision II controllers, but one controller may go to the original Intellivision if I do not get a replacement by that time. Muzz73
I've found the RAM chips available in the hundreds from Chinese surplus dealers and online Atari dealers have the YM2149 chip (pin-compatible replacement for the AY sound chip) available for around $10 each. What is the STIC chip? Maybe we can hunt some down?

You could get a whole system for the price of those controller parts.
iesposta
You could get a whole system for the price of those controller parts.Exactly. (But since I started the topic I thought I would answer with what I found.) Also my wanted thread worked. Under $12 with insurance to ship a broken one with insurance is on its way to me. HunterZero
I've found the RAM chips available in the hundreds from Chinese surplus dealers and online Atari dealers have the YM2149 chip (pin-compatible replacement for the AY sound chip) available for around $10 each. What is the STIC chip? Maybe we can hunt some down? Care to share the source of the RA-3-9600 chips? I'd like to get a couple of spares. The YM2149 40 pin DIP is pin compatible with the GI AY-3-8910, but has anyone tested either of these with an Intellivision? Intellivision master components use the AY-3-8914, and the ECS uses the AY-3-8917. I have a sneaking suspicion that the controllers won't work with a YM2149 or AY-3-8910. STIC chip is the GI Standard Television Interface chip. There are PAL and NTSC versions. - J
+intvsteve
IIRC the registers are a little different on the 8914. Didn't dig into any more detail than that.
Muzz73
Cool. I'll try a YM2149 in my Intellivision when I get it back from my sister. Then we can know for sure (not holding my breath, though). I'll see what I can dig up... if I run into any helpful components, does anyone want to go in with me on ordering bulk?
HunterZero
How many are we talking about for a 'bulk' order, and at what price per unit? If the minimum order size is more than a couple of dozen, depending on the unit price, I can't see you ever finding enough takers to justify the bulk order (unless someone is prepared to sit on an inventory of stock and offer a repair service, for example). Most people seem to just buy another unit on eBay for about $30 rather than try to diagnose and repair the one they have. - J Edited August 27, 2014 by HunterZero
Muzz73
I'll have to throw some numbers at them and see what they say, but it seems that I have found the STIC as well. If they have a minimum order of say, 5 units, then no problem. If they want 200 units (I've had some suppliers do that), then we are probably better off scamming the flea markets and swap meets. I'll try and get some numbers this weekend and post them.
Rolo
Just sent you a PM. I have a few remaining parts of dead console (1st generation Intellivision). Is that what you want? The disc is not very nice anymore. The golden sticker is worn. Maybe you could replace it with your disc. Regards.
