Hello all,

I've been working out a deal to sell Coleco/ColecoVision branded merchandise for the upcoming Classic Gaming Expo. I'm trying to gauge a response as to what Coleco/ColecoVision fans would most likely purchase and support.

The idea is to bolster marketing for the upcoming ColecoVision Flashback, as well as to recreate brand identification with our favorite classic 8-bit system. We've seen this with Atari IP on T-shirts, pajama pants, and playing cards among other things.

Please take a few minutes of your time to check out this poll. I would really appreciate it, and if the interest is there, we may be able to go beyond the confines of the Expo this September.

Thanks!

How about the "Our Vision Is Your Vision" as seen in the CV commercials?

Also, there was a bumper sticker that said something like "I got to get home to play my ColecoVision" - that would be cool as well (as a reproduction).

That's a great idea, and thank you for the input! I've actually already considered both of those classic slogans, as well as a few modernizations of each.

Feel free to share ideas about other items if anything comes to mind! Although things are moving fast (like this week)!

Link to AtariAge news and discussion for 2014 Classic Gaming Expo.

We have a really strong community here. What kind of turnout will we have for we ColecoVision enthusiasts? In case it was over looked, thevnaguy has stated that he will have a ColecoVision Flashback demoing at CGE!

Time to ramp up some excitement for this awesome Las Vegas event!

A large porcelain coffee mug would be pretty awesome.

The ultimate would be a mug done in black (like the ColecoVision ad campaign). That would look amazing with the color spectrum ColecoVision lettering. And if there's room somewhere, the "Your vision is our vision" tag-line would really complete it.

I like the idea of:

  • the red and white (NOT single color) 70s Coleco logo on a black T-shirt, a black coffee mug, and a white coffee mug
  • the ColecoVision one line logo on a black T-shirt, black coffee mug, and a white coffee mug
  • the two-line Coleco Vision logo on a black T-shirt, black coffee mug, and a white coffee mug

I don't want sparkles, metalic, or taglines, just keep it simple.

I also like the idea of modifying this logo:

Make ColecoVision into the 2-line logo, keep the screen and figure logo, kill the tagline.

I've seen this Cafe Press site. AFAIK, it's just a "theorized" ColecoVision swag store, and so far none of that merch has been implemented. I'm sure you could order up whatever you want, but I fear they're simply going to print that CV logo of questionable quality on anything you order and smack it right down in the middle. No real design implementation.

The gift items I'm prepared to deliver will have high quality vector art--eventually of several designs--and we'll have real deliverables soon!

I bought this T a couple of months ago and it's the most comfy shirt I own:

I'd buy another one just like it...

Thanks for the head's up. That is a cool shirt!

Here are the designs I produced for the CV 30th Anniversary (just so you can see what has been done before). There are printers that can produce the full colour gradient for the ColecoVision name and so no need to limit yourself to a four colour logo. If doing the full colour gradient then please use the right colours and gradients - there are so many incorrect home-made logos out there. I produced one that was as close as I could get to the original.

These look terrific, and I admire the work you produced Ikrananka! I'll take your advice about the multi-colored gradient. I've noticed that some representations of the classic ColecoVision logo aren't quite up to snuff. My aim is always to make a product that accurately represents Coleco products for myself and the fans!

Happy to share my settings for the colour gradient (attached). I'm not saying that mine are spot on - but they're the best I could come up with and were a compromise. I found that even Coleco and CBS Electronics were inconsistent with the colour gradient.
