Japanese Market Atari 2800 - What are my chances?

One of my best friends is visiting Japan this week and offered to spend some time looking for a boxed Atari 2800 and Japanese market carts. He says that he visited a pretty neat retro video game shop last year in Tokyo but he didn't know what to look for. This year I sent him with some pics. :)

I know that these did not sell well in Japan. What are the chances of him finding a 2800 or CIB games in the wild? Should I just settle for a Famicom?

Finally registered an account on here! I've lurked for many years.

I am a decent collector of Famicon games however I can contribute to this if it isn't too late.

There is a really good store near Akiba, and I was just there about 3 weeks ago

They had an open 2800 there, but who knows what your friend may find.

レトロゲーム フレンズ

Which is a cute name.

The lady who runs it is super nice, esp if you speak Japanese.

Prices are almost always better than Super Potato.

Bad part is that their selection isn't nearly as good. I suspect SP buys stuff from her too.
