I saw the thread and I thought this might have been some elaborate joke.  From the video, the game just looked too good to be running on the 2600 with a 4k ROM and not using any illegal opcodes.

After playing the ROM, I am glad to be wrong.  What an stunningly awesome game.

The author is also working on an improved version of Mario Brothers.  No ROM released yet but looks damn impressive on video.

The words "great" and "Pac-Man" never go together. Just not a fan on any platform :) I like that homebrewers are keeping at it though.

That game does look great though possibly even awesome.

Even if you don't like Pac-Man as a game, you should check out the ROM.   It is an amazing technical achievement for the 2600 and it isn't even finished yet.

Nice! And with the new 2600 shells Al is producing soon, might see a yellow cart (labels would beg for black border or background maybe?) that would be the perfect fit for this release.

*gasp* can't seem to find the preorder form *gasp*

Just downloaded the ROM and played it on my Android phone. It's amazing what today's 2600 developers are capable of.

Great job!

Actually, it would be cool if came in a box shaped sort of like this:

Like the way the Hot Wheels Asteroids car was packaged.

That would be sweet, but if I had to guess I'd say the cost per unit of such a small run would be astronomical.

Is that just random Latin, or is it about Virgil's patron Maecenas? I've just run it through Google translate and it comes up with nonsense about North Korea and proteins.

I wish the backstory was that interesting :)

Actually, I was just too tired to come up with any witty, usable copy.

It's probably not a good idea to use the word "official" anywhere since this is not a licensed and sanctioned product.  Best not to push things and keep skirting under the radar, right?  Just sayin'  ;)

I hear ya. It's just a rough, though. No one asked me to create the box art. But it would be cool if it was used ;)

I think that "ultimate" or "preeminent" would do nicely as a substitute.

I am always happy to see Brian's designs...
