Got another arcade cabinet: Golden Tee 2004!

Friend of mine called today and asked if I wanted some parts from a game he was parting out. I went over and he was taking the coin door and bill acceptor off a complete Golden Tee Golf game that he was no longer in need of! I asked him what else he was taking and he said he was done. He had the trak-ball removed, buttons and all that was still in the cabinet was the monitor. I asked if I could just have the whole thing, he agreed and help me take it to my back yard. Got everything, minus coin & bill unit. He said it worked but had a "boot-up" problem.

Thinking about putting MAME into it and got wondering if its possible to use the board and hard drive?

I believe it might have a security chip on the motherboard that will only boot the game and nothing else right? If removed, could it work like a regular computer board?
