Master Phruby
I got a red/black version of the Super Retro-Trio in the mail today so I could keep my everdrive cartridges plugged in all the time and switch between systems on the fly. I'm also low on AV ports so this should allow me to put away the CDX and SNES. I've tested the picture with both AV and svideo connections through a hdmi upscaler. So far I've tried out Sonic the Hedgehog via the Mega Everdrive. The game works great with an AV composite connection. However when I switch over to svideo the picture has lots of vertical lines. It gets even worse when I bypass the hdmi upscaler. The screen flickers during the sega logo and then has the vertical lines again. Could this be because of the included svideo cable included or is the svideo crap in this machine? I tried out a real Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cartridge from a thrift store. That cart took some work to make the picture show up at all. I found I had to insert the cart while the system as turned on and switched to Genesis to make the cart work. The picture in AV composite looked ok but the background color was purple instead of blue. I'm not sure if that is the cartridge or the machine. I switched to svideo and got the same vertical lines as with the Genesis. I'm still waiting for the super everdrive to show up so I'll dig out a real snes cart in the next few days to test. Any ideas what is with the vertical lines?
Atariboy
I don't believe that there's a single NOAC out there with S-Video support, so you'll never get a good picture via S-Video for the NES side.
MrMaddog
Same with a Genesis since it never had S-Video but RGB instead. Only way to get good S-Video from Genny carts is with a Retron 3...
