So Ebay is shitty and suddenly I can't see them all, but... I did see quite a few games end up selling in the $60-70 range. ETs were in the hundreds of course. I didn't catch the cheapest Warlords which is my pick for the next lot.

Nice to see that speculators haven't driven prices completely stupid (well except for ET).

Was watching a Pat the NES punk video and they were talking about this and they made a good point - there are still several hundred copies of these to be sold over the next weeks or months. The price is only going to drop over time so the person who paid $1400 is going to look pretty stupid when they drop below a hundred at the end. Not to mention if the town wants to dig up more, thinking they've got a nice little cash cow going.

Given that people pay thousands of dollars for rocks that are literally worthless except for a cartel controlling supply and a century of brainwashing... I'd gladly pay $100 for a piece of history. Even if it is a useless piece of junk, just like the aforementioned rocks.

With the landfill carts, at least as far as I have seen, $100 does not come close to covering admission :)

This is a good point, reminds me of the brazil motorodeo and ikari warriors :)

I'm gonna go with "it depends".

I'm already seeing news stories that heavily imply "hey, you missed out on the first cheap ones, so the next ones are gonna sell for even more". Describing bids from all over the world, museum displays being set up around these, etc.

I can see the next batch going for significantly more, to be honest. EVENTUALLY these things will be worthless but people are idiots.

I had the seller's page open until I stupidly left the tab and Ebay decided to reload it empty.. grr. Anyway, at the end of the sales, most non-ET games were under $100. Plenty in the $60-70 range.

Kicking myself for not bidding $60 on a Warlords. Maybe next time.
