+MrFish
This 1K game is a better version of the same concept than any of the Flappy Bird games I've seen so far -- including the original Crappy Bird. Superfly 1K (very fun, and yet challenging) Edited September 21, 2014 by MrFish
iesposta
There are two already... do i get a finder's fee? =-) I made a game that made a list?! Cool!
TMR
Picky bugger all of a sudden Yeah, anything to get out of the finder's fee... [comedy muttering =-] And one that's actually playable. That'll stop it from being a Flappy Bird conversion though... (No offence iesposta. =-)

(No offence iesposta. =-) No offense taken. I like to think my Version is playable because I programmed it without ever having played the original, and I at least tried to make it fun and funny. I like to think my Version is playable because I programmed it without ever having played the original, and I at least tried to make it fun and funny. And I wasn't talking about your version, which is playable. I was talking about all the versions with fancy graphics that aren't playable. José Pereira
Sack where are you? Starting with $100 doesn't seem bad, I accept 25% or so for the gfxs
José Pereira
It all started here: http://formatwar.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=463 And I was even trying to motivate Sack and posted 'Dark Side' idea, this was before there were two C64's versions coming... I know Sack is very busy in his life but who knows... Why not try to message shooting him? Edited September 22, 2014 by José Pereira
Mclaneinc
Never saw the big thing about Flappy bird / clones of it, I think its nice it got ported by many (well done those coders) and people enjoyed it but for ->me<- its was the most annoying un-fun game I'd seen in a while, no sense of just one more go, as soon as I hit one of the columns twice I put the bloody thing down and never went back. Horses for courses I guess.... Edited September 22, 2014 by Mclaneinc

Rybags
TBH, it's a shit game. It's like a case of "mee-too-ism" that retro computers and consoles have people doing versions for them. For actual good playable games like Line Runner, Cannanbalt and the like, it's a positive thing. For junk like this - really, the time/effort would be way better expended on reproducing a game that's actually worth having in the first place.
sack-c0s
I figured if I was fast enough it'd possibly get some mainstream attention too (and in one case it did, but that was a poor port of the game) - but life came along and dumped a stack of work on me (which, ironically, is games porting) maybe when this project is done (which should be soon) I can sort out my personal 'to do' list, which currently needs a second house to hold it. Bunsen
Fuky Bird is missing on this list! Flappy from pirx is looking quite better, but gameplay of Fuky Bird is a bit better. Fuky Bird was a tenliner release. NOMAM14_final2.atr
+CharlieChaplin
Hmmm, how can Flappy by Pirx be controlled ? Tried it with a joystick and smashing the fire-button several times but nothing happened. (And I tested the joystick and fire-button afterwards with a different game and it worked good). Do we need keyboard here or Paddles or what kind of controls for Flappy ?!?
pirx
Hey! As far as I remember it is space bar that "controls" flappy [: pirx
Bunsen
Yes, Space Bar let it fly :-) There were some hacks that made it a bit easier to play. Pirx, what do you think about pimping your Flappy (e.g. adding background, score, sound, moving obstacles) and taking the money
pixelmischief
"Flappy Bird" is, itself, just a re-imagining of the game "Helicopter". I used to play it on "Ebaum's World" like a decade ago. "Wind Jammers" is a "Pong" clone. The march goes on. Tried and true game mechanics given a nice shiny vernier.

FOr me it was kind of a mental exercise, especially in generating playfield. I really doubt this game can be made playable - it can be made much nicer though (: I will think about it ^_^ Best, pirx
