benammiswift
Hi everyone I'm afraid my first post is a plea for help but anyway. I have an Atari 1040 STe and have acquired a monitor to scart cable for it and hooked it up to my TV. all it shows is a black screen but when i press a keyboard key the annoying sound TOS makes when you press a button comes through on the tv. I can display it through RF but as you'll well know RF is pretty bad in terms of quality. thanks a lot Benammi Edited September 26, 2014 by benammiswift
galax
ST to SCART cables can carry two types of video signal from the ST, Composite or RGB, or both. I don't know much about how TVs work out which signal to use if the cable carries both. What model is your TV? It might be unable to handle the low horizontal frequency of the ST's RGB video signal. bluemonday
I had this problem. I was using a ST to Philips CM8833 SCART cable which is different wiring to an ST to RGB SCART one. So using one of the latter (available online for about £10 in the UK) is also worth a try. It works for me on the three LCD TVs I've tried it on. fedepede04
i had to try 3 different TV to get it to work properly. one of the tv just show a black screen, so try an other tv if you got one.
Spider008
Get a composite lead and the Mini AV2HDMI UP Scaler 1080P and it will convert the output to HDMI - low res is crystal clear, you can also use High Res but not played with it much lately, it uses a micro usb port to draw charge so either a phone charger will power it or something with a USB port, mine sits next to my USB Hub so I run it off that. Cost is between £12 and £20, I use these to convert my Xbox original and PS2 to HDMI
