Wasteland 2

I never used Steam... quick question... if I buy Wasteland 2 and download it to my wife's laptop and then later get my own pc/laptop, can I transfer the game to my other pc/laptop (and the save game as well?)? I've been well out of touch with the PC market and wanted this game (and Baldur's Gate) but haven't made the commitment yet.

Yes. It kept crashing on my main system, so I downloaded it again(via the client) on my laptop, and it runs just fine. It might ask you to login & verify again to computer #2, but after that, it's all good.

I now play this game for a few hours each night. Some parts get REALLY dificult. Lots of booby-trapped boxes. Lots of critical failures on a skill hit. Some things aren't obvious until you read about it later in a walkthrough.

Adding to what S1500 said you can install the game to as many PC's as you want including sharing your account with family members.

Another option:

Please check out GOG.com. The best way to game besides maybe Steam. Always DRM free and you download and keep whatever they give you no online connectivity at all. Wasteland 2 is available on GOG. With them you get to download the full game, the manual, the soundtrack, burn it to a disc, share it, give it to a friend or get a refund if you don't like it.

GOG.COM.....check it out.

Amazing game. Playing it on Steam as time allows. Feels SO much like the original Wasteland, in So many ways. It does have a lot in common with the earlier Fallout games also. I can't suggest this game highly enough. Get it either on Steam or GOG. And the company said the boxed copies are coming, it's just out of their hands cause someone else is making it for them.

I'm building a new PC right now, this game will be the first one I buy. (My current build and vid card won't be able to run this one, and I want the experience to be perfect.) I was such a crackhead for the original, I actually ADT'd my characters from my original Apple II playthroughs and still play with them on AppleWin.

Also,

My looking back at Wasteland.

  • 5 weeks later...

I've been playing nightly, past midnight, where it's affecting my sleep schedule. Some parts are brutally hard(even on the lightest difficulty), and some are buggy(like healing NPCs). And there are a lot of booby-trapped containers, and safes that I will never open in my lifetime.

Game is still fun though. It throws a few wrenches into your plans.
