metzger130
So I got a 4 port 5200 from a garage sale with trak ball. I hook up controllers and they work ok, other than buttons not working, hook up the trackball and it goes to the upper L and I move it around the screen and it then settles at upper L again (missile command), this has been the past 2 days. It worked perfectly on my 2 port and other 4 port systems. Now today i hook up a controller, play some with it and it works good, played pac man to see if it would just go L automatically, so then I put missile command in again, hook up the trackball, and this time with the trackball it works PERFECTLY. Any idea why this would happen like this? power button issue also with the system, not sure if just cleaning it will help or not. You have to press around the button and eventually it will turn on or off. Not always the same spot either to get it to power on or off. I imagine it is a contact issue. I've had mine do the same but the more I use them the better the power button gets. I've also seen the power button act funny if the system board and case are not assembled just right. zylon
Try loosening all 7 case screws 1/4 turn.
7800
Regarding the Trak-Ball... It just might be the plug and/or harness. They are very flaky. If you bend the wire one way, everything will work fine... if you bend it another way, the controls go haywire. Same thing also happens to the joysticks.
