Willsy
http://turboforth.soft112.com/ this seems very dodgy to me! Who the hell are these guys? They're advertising a 'setup program' for Windows that installs TurboForth? Erm....?

mnbvcxz
http://turboforth.soft112.com/ this seems very dodgy to me! Who the hell are these guys? They're advertising a 'setup program' for Windows that installs TurboForth? Erm....? I just used this to download turboforth from sourceforge, It was free so I do not think it is a scam, we shall see if I downloaded an infected file. +OLD CS1
A lot of sites like this exist. They tend to be revealed when you do searches for software. Essentially, they just scour the Internet for software, steal the descriptions, bump of their search listing rankings to attract your clicks, then send you through an internal link-maze to download from the legitimate source, but by then you have gone through several screens full of advertisements or click-throughs. Some people think these are a service as aggregators, I think they are damned annoying and quite dodgy.
atrax27407
Good on ya', mate! I didn't know there was a version that ran directly from Windows7. I thought you needed a TI or an emulator. Can you send me a copy (tongue planted firmly in cheek)?
Tursi
They are very dodgy, a lot of those sites use advertising hosts who allow infected ads, sending out drive-by viruses that are very hard to track back (since it won't load every time you visit the page). I don't recommend any of them.
Gary from OPA
They are very dodgy, a lot of those sites use advertising hosts who allow infected ads, sending out drive-by viruses that are very hard to track back (since it won't load every time you visit the page). I don't recommend any of them. Either that, or that package a bunch of 'OTHER' stuff (things like silly browser toolbars, or internet speedup junk, or registry cleaners, etc.) in with the actual program installation, with tiny checkboxs or defaults, that if you just keep clicking on NEXT (without reading the fine print) it installs them also along with the FREE software you wanted. All the big download software sites do that now, even Cnet and others, what a waste.
+OLD CS1
I remember CNet getting a lot of backlash over that crap, too. I am surprised they are still doing it.
