mehguy
I'm kinda new to the genre. i'm looking for an adventure game that the puzzles are easy and I don't have to look up walkthroughs every 5 minutes

Torr
I just recently got "The Blackwell" series on GOG as a random game from the Mutator sale they have, so far it's awesome, good story, intuitive puzzles, old school graphics... haven't found anything to complain about so far! Gredler
The Longest Journey was the first I played, and I played it long after it came out and it held up well. You may need a faq for some of the obscure puzzles, but it was really good overall.
mbd30
i'm looking for more traditional point and click adventures games. I grew up with the classic Sierra games. I don't remember having too much trouble beating Space Quest when I was 10.
Reaperman
Day of the tentacle on PC. or if we're talking consoles, there's a surprisingly solid scooby doo adventure game on genesis. Edited October 9, 2014 by Reaperman
RevEng
Throwing a lot out here, because there's no one perfect choice for everybody to start out with... Because they skew easier and were made after game designers figured out dead-ends were a bad thing... Loom, Full Throttle, Sam & Max are a good place to start. The Monkey Island series is great for humor, as is Zac McCracken. The two Indiana Jones titles from LucasArts are good if you love Indiana Jones. Avoid Maniac Mansion. While I love it for nostalgic reasons and it broke new ground, its quite easy to put yourself in an unwinnable scenario without knowing it. If you want to start older school, the Sierra online stuff is pretty much uniformly good, though the interface is less advanced than the LucasArts stuff. Lots to like in Space Quest, Kings Quest, and Leisure Suit Larry. Out of this World/Another World brought a cinematic vibe to the adventure genre, feeling a bit like an atmospheric 70s science fiction movie that you play. The interface isn't point and click, but its an adventure game. Lastly, for a fresh modern take on adventuring, The Cave is quite fun. +wongojack
Telltale games probably offer the easiest entry point to this genre. Their additions to the Monkey Island and Sam and Max franchises offer an old school property with enhancements that remove some of the barriers to entry of the classic genre. It gets better from there too with Back to the Future, The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us.

78affily
Goof Troop SNES and Flashback on Genesis or SNES. Yep. I agree. I found some SNES games are very good.
