Oh man I want this but I am state side, would it be easier to just purchase a modded Lynx II?

Could be done. Just ask and someone with soldering experience and time could pick up the LCD mod and a spare working Lynx, put it together, and sell it to you.  I'd offer but my cutting skill is second only to 3 year old with plastic scissors. :P I know I will have ugly looking hack when I try to install VGA port.

Furtekk - could you please confirm that you are not going ahead with the TV out to scart mod? That way I can use the lynx I have put aside for this mod, for something else.

Kind regards.

The last I heard he was going to give me a refund, but then he said he was just finishing the manual.  Hopefully he's continuing work on this!  I guess he's busy.  I will keep you posted.

Either way I get the feeling he is refunding or finish ing work for you. I don't think he'll continue after that for others.

Of course it would be easier, but that's no fun and it might cost more! If you know a bit about electronics and soldering, it is a fun project. I'm also state side and ordered from McWill on the 24th, so it's going to take some time to get here but it's worth it. In dollars it was $152(shipping included).

Just a quick update. I had a refund from Furrtek - he's had too many projects on the go! Hopefully he will produce something in future!

Any update on this?   It's very interesting.  I never had a Lynx growing up, but it looks like it has some great games, but I'm not really into handheld.  Would love to get a Lynx and mod it for VGA or TV out.

The mod from this thread offers what you want: http://atariage.com/...-mcwill/page-28

You have actually managed to dodge the one thread on page 1 that actually is about a mod that has come to fruition quite well, finding two older threads buried in the forum.^^

He didn't open old wound by bumping you-know-who's thread.  Last I heard, he still owes a few people either the LCD kit or the full refund after dropping off the Earth about 2 years ago.

LOL....sorry guys.   Didn't mean to stir up anything.   I did find the right thread after these two :)

So how do I "unbump" an thread...... :?  ;)

No problem, really. :) I just found it funny how you found this thread and the other one that is really ancient, but missed the one about the mod that is readily available. I sometimes browse forums and miss the obvious myself, really no big deal. Just a bit funny. :)

Forum search may miss a few things.  If one searched for Lynx TV, it might have not picked up McWill's mod because he didn't advertise it for TV but for VGA.

The thread about McWill's mod should be pinned and made front page news, IMO.
