PC Engine Duo-R Power Supply Issue

So I recently nabbed a PCE Duo-R from this seller:

However, when I finally got it today and used my Genesis Model 2 AC cable, it doesn't work. Also, I have a Trio M2 I got from Retro Game Cave years ago to see if that will work, but nothing. Do I need to get a Japanese power supply or did I just get a bad system that doesn't work and I need to ask for another?

it accepts DC voltage so anything meeting the voltage requirement and current requirements should work, on the US version though it takes a odd size plug, a normal 5mm outside 2.5mm inside post like the genesis wont make contact on the center pin

 

you need a size "q" which is 6 something mm outside 3mm center post, least for the US version, dunno about others

I use a PS2 slim power supply I use on my Duo-R and it works fine. The Genesis model 2 supply should work.
