Java Hex Editor - Revamped

Hi there,

in the course of developing WUDSN IDE, I came across the question how I could include a proper hex editor for real editing.

The one that ships with the IDE is rather a file analysis tool for the different Atari formats.

So I found a open source project that offered such an editor as additional plugin that could fit well.

Yet the project was a bit outdated and needed more structure and cross-platform support.

So I decided to contribute and now the first updated version is available.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/javahexeditor

A Java based hex editor. Available as stand-alone application on multiple platforms and as Eclipse plugin. Support for very large files. Hex, ASCII and Unicode find. Overwrite/insert modes. Binary and text cut/copy/paste. Undo/redo.

For now, there is a stand-alone executable for Linux and Windows 32/64 bit. Eclipse plugin is about to follow.

I'd be happy to get some feedback / bug reports.

Update: 2014-11-05

https://sourceforge.net/projects/javahexeditor/files/javahexeditor/current/

Changes:

- Contains fix for "Save", before 9999 temp files were created under certain circumstances

- Linux 64-bit build added

- Updated online help

Regarding the 32-bit Windows version I did not find a 32-bit machine for testing, but somebody from the ABBUC reported the last version already worked correctly.

So I am looking forward to your feedback.

Update 2014-11-05:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/javahexeditor/files/javahexeditor/current/

The current standalone version has been updated with a complete German localization for the on-screen texts (except for the online help). I have also extended the build process, so now there are also a Mac OS X version for 32-bit and 64-bit Mac OS X machines. I do not have such a machine, so if you can test and provide feedback, I'd be happy.

Thanks. MrFish also mentioned this. I had a working .app version but changed some things to get also icons in it. Pitty I don't have a Mac or testing, so I need to wait until I get hold of one again.
