That bit about a coder from Elite doing some impressive stuff on the 3DO, tapping in some hidden potential (probaly means not using the regular SDK), it would be cool to know what game used said technique. Hopefully it wasnt the horrible Virtuoso, since there is nothing impressive or even good about that horrible game. Does anyone know of other games Elite did, or were doing for 3DO, besides Virtuoso, and the cancelled racing game Powerslide?

Apologies for the thread bump, but i do have an answer and you won't like it :-))

Yes,it was the god awful Virtuoso.

R.J:I am especially happy with some of the 3DO-specific effects in this program, where the programmer has gone beyond the lessons we teach and has discovered hardware and software magic of his own.

Even the brilliant minds sometimes can be wrong. He is obviuosly very wrong about Rodad Rash and the Playstation and Saturn capabilities. They blew 3DO out of the water. But that just tells you how the Designers of 3DO and Jaguar did not anticipated the paradigmatic shift to 3D.

If you mean Powerslide and Vituoso - they are both awful and on Supercross 3D Level of bad.
