metzger130
I was wondering where you cold find controllers for the Intellivision II or Sears Arcade? i have an Intellivision II that 1 of the 2 controllers works well, the other one works rarely. The Intellisvion II works great, the sears has 2 controllers that work. Sears arcade power button works, but is tough to turn on and off. Is there somewhere that you can get controllers that will work?
Hyperboy
Get an Intellivision Flashback and controller adapters from nurmix, New controllers for $40 bucks!
wolfy62
Get an Intellivision Flashback and controller adapters from nurmix, New controllers for $40 bucks! Best advice by far! The best way to go for certain. Wolfy
+grips03
Get flashback and rewire controller cables. If you need a longer cable, then skip the rewire and buy cable from nurmix
metzger130
Ok, in case anyone else reads this let's make sure that they get the price right. The system is $40 plus tax, the cables are.. I believe 22 for 2 plus shipping so for 2 controllers your looking at almost $70. That's a lot of money for 2 conotrollers. Granted I probably would play the system too, but still, a lot of money. +intvsteve
True. Most of this crowd would buy the Flashback regardless. By itself, it is really well done, a few issues notwithstanding. On the upside, they are brand new. You could get an old used console for less, but it'd e a crapshoot as to the efficacy of the controllers.

This is a bargain to get both the Flashback, awesome cables and the great controllers that come with the system. Well worth it, I bought them all! wolfy62
It is hard to find working controllers for the Sears system or Intv 2. Plus, if you get the controller adapters you are not hunched over the whole time trying to play a game, they extend out so you can sit back and play! Very nice! doctorclu
The controls on the Flashback are amazing and I would have bought it almost for that. Aside from that, ebay for regular controllers? You might get a parts Intellivision with controllers. No telling how good the controllers will be. Honestly I think an Intellivision 2 controller was practically inoperative the day they were made. Personal opinion though.

metzger130
Problem with my intellivison 2 controller is the plastic on the keypad is broke and it won't register the keys anymore, probably same thing that happened to you intvsteve. Granted I got that, a lot of boxed games for $50 from a store that had it in a box so I'm not complaining. Just need to get a system that works with 2 controllers. I do like the look of the original int. and robably will eventually get one just to look at. lol

Unfortunately, you can't even steal the guts from Intellivision "I" controllers to put into Intellivision II controllers. The Sears ones would match a little better, and feel better, than the original Intellivision II controllers, but would likely cost even more to get than those from an Intellivision I. Though they will work without modification, though. You'd have to make an adapter to get the original controllers to work on a II. The one time I tried opening an Intellivision II controller to repair it, I broke one of the plastic tabs that hold the housing together. The things seem to have been made to be disposable. Maybe Mattel hoped to sell replacement controllers more often for huge profits! So anyhow... when it comes down to it, if you don't already have another unit to harvest controllers from, it's a bit of a hunt to try to get it going on the cheap. You might get lucky and score a 'parts' system that has decent controllers. You could get bum controllers though -- at which point you may be able to get new 'guts' on eBay -- but they may end up being $20 a pair or more anyway. Intellivision II controller guts tend to be a bit rarer to come across. Someone actually had put a Flashback on eBay w/o controllers for $30. Now, it's unclear why someone would buy a FB w/o controllers, but then, people buy weirder stuff all the time. You could try your luck w/ that and recoup some of the costs. metzger130
I plan on keeping the flashback. I'm assuming that you can unattach the cables to play on the flashback again. At least that is my plan.

At least that is my plan. If you're getting nurmix's most awesome cables, yeah. You just plug them into your Intellivision II on one end, and plug your FB controller into the other. If you're handy w/ a soldering iron, you could even DYI and make your own cables by scrounging a connector and, if those old coily Intellivision II controllers are really trashed, just cut those and use them to make your own adapter cable. I bought that for $23 shipped and it was complete sans the controllers, The reason I bought it was for a backup and as a single player unit in a spare room or when traveling. I've wasted $23 on wayyy worse things that I don't care to mention

I've wasted $23 on wayyy worse things that I don't care to mention Well, there you go! Being a variant junky, I'll have at least four of these things: CGE, DG, Sam's, and the "standard" version. Turns out the TRU one I have has a 'batch' of 07/2014, while the CGE is 08/2014. I think someone already pointed this out. They've both got the same guts, according to the 'test boot' screen, so I guess it's just the print date of the box.
Hyperboy
I will have multiples of each as well, I am somewhat addicted to these things
