ydcl
Hello, Welll... It went from awesome to now I'm screwed... I softmodded my xbox, installed kawaks x and got 1 game to boot properly... The went back to PC and downloaded a SNES emu for xbox... When I turned the xbox back on it does not go past the unleash x logo. It freezes at this point... Is the xbox dead? Did I brick it? R.Cade
If you saved your EEPROM files from the box, you can make another new hard disk, or unlock the disk you have, then re-lock the drive with the EEPROM keys. If you didn't save them, then you are screwed...the drive is locked. The only way I know to unbrick that is a hard mod. Some mods have two modes - one if you boot with the drive tray open vs closed, so try that also. You may get lucky. That's why the first thing to do after softmod is FTP your keys off the box. Greg2600
Dumb question but you've tried turning it off/on more than once? I've gotten frozen before, and simply powered the system off/on. Did you softmod the original HDD or another one? The problem is I don't know how you can unlock the HDD that's in there (to be able to hook up to a PC and fix the data) if you can't get into the dashboard? That's why it's best to keep the original drive spare just in case.

Greg2600
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?/topic/244043-xboxhdm-for-dummies/ Eh, I know how to soft mod them, I've done several.
R.Cade
The reason I linked that is if your drive is screwed up so it will not boot, you'll need to use xboxhdm to prep it again, or a replacement drive...
