toptenmaterial
My vote goes to Enduro (2600) and Necromancer (A8). No need for drugs with those on your TV screen!
VectorGamer
Why Enduro? It's just a racing game. I always thought Escape From the Mindmaster was pretty trippy.
+save2600
With the way the road scrolls and is colored, Easy to zone out in Enduro Racer. Kind of a trippy effect. Midnight Magic, when you knock down all the drop targets and you're treated to a rainbow of colors. Star field in Cosmic Ark. Journey Escape. Fast Eddie after clearing a screen. Explosions in Atlantis. And Vanguard is all sorts of trippy!

Tempest
WTF Beany Bopper Yeah I'd agree with that one. Even the box art is trippy.
Chuck D. Head
I will agree with Vanguard and throw in Reactor off the top of my head; the music and the gameplay are wild.

Tempest
The spider level in Krull is pretty trippy. I never really understood how that level worked. But then again I've barely played the game
Shinju
Frankenstein's Monster, when Frank decides to rush the screen! Any of the Action screen in any of the Sword Quest Games, the music was trippy too! Edited October 24, 2014 by Shinju
Rex Dart
You can really zone out to Beamrider or Juno First, but nothing is trippier than Reactor and its attract screen.

Flojomojo
I think the sounds in Return of the Jedi: Death Star Battle are really haunting ... they're in TxK on the Vita and fit right into that trippiest of trippy games. Also, Yar's Revenge. Wow, man.

That's actually a good point. They're kind of relaxing too in a weird way. The whole game is very soothing to me.

Also, Yar's Revenge. Wow, man. I've never RotJ before. Wow, it looks great! The sound programming especially seems masterfully done. Edit: I could never figure out how to play Yar's Revenge. I seemed like I couldn't get killed and couldn't kill anything. Edited October 28, 2014 by toptenmaterial
Flojomojo
For Yars' Revenge, you need to read the instruction manual, and preferably, the comic book. All is made clear there. You can find that stuff on Atari Age.
cimerians
I loved ROTJ...played that a lot way back when. The sounds were cool the effects and explosions. Tunnel Runner is kind of trippy, I remember getting nervous navigating the maze. Borderline survival horror, also the first 3D game I ever played besides maybe Wizardry or Ultima (the dungeons). Also I never noticed it until recently but the Doors music sounds like its playing when those monsters come towards you.
