Florian
Hi, I am trying to get an old MegaST with an ET4000 card to work with a TFT. The computer used to work fine with an old MultiSync but I cannot get the NVDI parameters set to achieve a proper picture. I´ve attached a picture to describe my problem. Any ideas? Thanks! Thorsten Günther
No idea, but I did own a TT030 w/ TKR Crazy Dots with HC expansion and never had any issue similar to yours. Had it running on a NEC Multisync 3D first and, when the NEC died, on a SONY Multiscan 15sf II, and both displayed 768*576/32K in about 66 Hz refresh rate (a self-generated video mode using NVDI's excellent video mode generator). Did you have a look at the default video mode the ST boots into (was it NVDI.INF where this is saved? Sorry, it's too long since I used it)? lp060
I had similar problems on my CrazyDots II when I switched to a flat panel. There is a program called video mode generator which is part of the NVDI ET4000 package and I used that to adjust the timing. Eventually I got it sorted, but it was a lot of trial and error fiddling with the adjustments in the video mode generator. Actually your photo looks like the test pattern in the video mode generator. These old video cards have limited bandwidth. Is it possible you are trying to display a mode beyond the cards pixel-clock limit? Florian
Thanks for your reply. I did use the VideomodeGenerator to generate this image and played around with the settings. All video modes which can be displayed by the tft show the same line patterns. When using the old video modes, that used to work on my old tube monitor, the tft cannot display them (out of range...). So I increased the pixel clock - maybe this is too much for the ET4000. I had a look in other topics and found, that the NEC 1970VX tft can display a broader range of video modes, so I ordered one on ebay. I´ll let you know, if this helps. Florian
Hi everyone, since i didn´t manage to solve this problem using different nvdivga.inf-settings and also using different flat-panels, i remembered the old trick "disassemble-reassemble". After cleaning all contacts of the ET4000 and putting everything together again... it works!!! Nothing learned again, but who cares if everythings works now... After renaming all autostart-programs (redirect, resolutionselect, nvdi...) from prx to prg the Atari shows 2 bombs after rebooting. I´ve already checked the bootup-order of the programs: redirect, nvdi, resselect, folder100, multiram, gemram, winx. I think thats the way it should be, right? When deactivating the nvdi.prg, the Atari boots well. Any idea whats wrong there?
