SoundGammon
Back around 1980, I had an old b&w tv set in a wooden console, (remember those?). Anyway, I nailed some boards to the sides for legs and flipped it on its back with the screen facing up and 4 of us could sit on each side and play quadra-pong! Also worked great for Indy 500. Warlords wasn't out yet. Those were the days!
TPA5
Ingenuity before the internet, what a thing! Any chance you have a picture hanging around of that?
Keatah
Cool. I did similar with a smaller semi-portable b/w tv. But instead of a stand like you made I just made a cardboard cutout frame and used meters, dials, and switches from RadioShack to simulate a control panel for Three Mile Island. It was cool because the buttons and dials would make the meters move and lights light up. In a kid kind of way, you know?? I clearly recall my mom asking the dad if there was anything dangerous in what I was doing.
SoundGammon
No pics. Got thinking about maybe using a coffee table and use it for some cool 4-player games! I got a round one with a glass top that would protect it from spills and stuff! I'll have to find a nice LCD tv set with s-video inputs...maybe 19"... Lots of great examples of that kind of arcade 'round the net, here's just a few...
