I have ordered in the components to build some of these :) Hope to have a initial prototype soon to show. but the first batch I plan on making will have a Red Ball top with a black shaft. Probably will sell them in sets of two, still have to determine pricing for them. I started this thread to see what interest there is in these, if you want a set please post a reply on this thread :)

The one pictured below is a mock up of what it should look like.

There ya go Yurkie, as you can see there is a demand for it. I have also gotten emails from my youtube video about it as well, so if you want to start building them and selling them I will back off and let you do it :)

I am just going to order enough material to make my own set and let others go to you if you want :)

Are these really necessary? I felt one thing AtGames did right was the stick. It's pretty soft and moves effortlessly, and doesn't leave your thumb in pain, or your hand cramped.

it's way too short, it's supposed to be designed to use the stick in one hand, at this size it's more of a glorified thumbstick

The only question is, who is going to make these? :P

I am moving ahead to make me a set :) If Yurkie does not do them I may make some more and distribute amongst the troops. All I would ask is shipping (first class so its cheap) and maybe something to help pay for the materials (the 3mm PLA wire to make the red ball tops), whatever you thought was appropriate :)

Yeah, I'm on the too-short-nub-is-awful side as well.

the more I spend time with the Coleco Flashback the more evident it is becoming that it was a "after thought". The Intellivision Flashback is awesome which does not surprise considering the involvement of Keith Robinson.

- Joystick - To short , pinches fingers

- Internal pad for joystick - utilizing a D pad type arrangement on the bottom that is very weak. over stroking the joystick will cause the pad to break off. (may be why the joystick was shortened?)

- Cheesy decal on top saying ColecoVision Flashback

- Intermittant issues of screen going offset while playing a game

- Poor wiring to internal board in controllers, wires are stripped back to far and can short out against each other.

- using the 9 pin address to encode the joystick and keypad to the unit instead of 7 like the original (one of the reasons why an adpater cable will not work like on the Intellivision Flashback)

I just hope Coleco Holdings LLC can crack the whip more if a version 2 comes out :)

I'll do my best to keep pushing for improvements from them as well. Unfortuntely, the situation with Intellivision Productions and AtGames, and Coleco Holdings and AtGames, is quite different for a variety of reasons. I'm not sure how much we can expect from the latter.
