toptenmaterial
Overall, I have noticed that the prices for GBA games have plummeted, even Mario stuff. That's good news. However, I've been looking online at Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow and the Double Pack and they command ridiculous prices. Lukie's wants $80 for Double Pack loose! And I should note that some of their other GBA prices are quite reasonable. So what's the world coming to?
Austin
The double pack is rarer than either of the other standalone titles. Other than that, I'm not sure why they are expensive. Maybe because they are super good? (Part 2 aside.. still don't like it, honestly).
Atariboy
If someone just wants to play them, they at least have two easy alternative options other than outright homebrew emulation if they don't want to pay the asking price for a single cartridge. One is the upcoming Game Boy Advance Everdrive that will allow someone to play all three on real hardware along with many other games. The asking price surely will be more than probably any one of these cartridges would go for, but they'd gain a ton of useful functionality and won't have the worry that the $80 cartridge that they just bought is a bootleg (A real possibility when buying a popular GBA classic). The next option is the Wii U Virtual Console where all three were recently released for $8 a game. I only have one GBA download so far, but it looks great on my HDTV, has a lot of configuration options, save states, and off-screen play with the Wii U's large gamepad screen. Glad I bought the double pack when it was new and $20. Still in my backlog, but I'm looking forward to rectifying that one of these days. Austin
What you guys will find with Castlevania games is that the prices on them keep fluctuating. At one time Harmony of Dissonance was the most expensive, then the price dropped quite a bit.. now it's back up. Seems to be the case with the majority of the library (although some obvious ones will always stay higher, like Rhondo of Blood on the PC Engine). Jess Ragan
I've got the Double Pack too. Seemed like a good way to save money at the time!
